Here we go

As the kidnappers roared away, Pete noticed something stuck on the back of the car. It was a small piece of duct
tape. With a grim smile he thought," She's marked the car for us."
"Ohhh...." groaned MacGyver as he revived. "What happened?"
"After knocking you out, those men kidnapped Andrea," answered Pete, helping MacGyver to his feet. "Are you
okay?" he asked, looking concerned.
"I'll live. What did they want her for?" asked MacGyver with a touch of amazement.
"I don't know. I'll have to do some digging back at the Foundation."
Back at the Phoenix Foundation, Pete was focused on his computer screen. "MacGyver, look at this. You remember those two agents we lost on a drug case? Those were her parents. It says they died in a car crash. But
why would those men be after Andrea?"
"Maybe they figure her parents told her something before they died," MacGyver hypothesized. Pete's secretary
brought him a report. "Those men were Mr. Charles Wright and Mr. Daniel Lepht. Their car is registered at a
warehouse at the docks," read Pete aloud.
"Great. Let's go get 'em," said MacGyver with growing excitement.
"Hang on, I need to call for some back up. As in the police," said Pete.
"Well, you know where I'll be," said MacGyver leaving.
At the warehouse, Andrea was tied to a chair. "Tell us what we want to know," said Mr. Lepht, "and it will be over much quicker."
Andrea sat there with a stubborn look on her face, then said, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Angrily, Mr. Wright backhanded her. Looming over her, he said, "Tell us. What did your parents tell you about
their case before they died? And who have you told, you little brat?" Patiently, Andrea sat there in silence. Becoming
angrier, Mr. Wright began to shake her. Mr. Lepht put a hand on his shoulder and said coldly, "Let's leave her to think it
over, why don't we?"
"Sure," Mr. Wright agreed, glaring at Andrea as if he hated her. They exited the building together and turned off
the lights. Soon, Andrea heard their vehicle start and drive away. "Good," she muttered to herself," now I can get to work on these ropes." Suddenly, she heard someone else breathing directly behind her.
"Want some help?" said MacGyver coming up behind her.
"Mr MacGyver!" she exclaimed softly. "I figured you'd come, but I didn't think it would be this quickly."
"Hold still while I cut these ropes off," he said. Once she was free, he wrapped her in a hug and asked," How'd
you know?"
"I thought that you just didn't look like the kind of guy who would give up," she said. " And I was right."
"Let's go," MacGyver said, "before they get back." He began to head towards the rear of the building. Andrea was wondering why he was going that direction when she saw the outline of a door. Slowly, they edged the door open
and peered out. Momentarily blinded, they could see nothing, but then their vision cleared and they saw no one around. MacGyver exited and Andrea followed. "Come on,Andrea. My Jeep is just around the corner," he said, still watching for signs of anyone approaching.
"Lead the way. But could you call me Andy? That's what my friends call me," she replied as they ran.
"Sure, Andy, and you can call me Mac or MacGyver. arriving at his Jeep, they jumped in and MacGyver cranked up the engine. Quickly turning around, they set off down the road. Soon, they came to a police roadblock.
"What's going on?" asked Andy, straining her eyes to see.
MacGyver spotted Pet and said,"Let's get out and ask Pete."
"MacGyver! We nabbed them as they were driving away. They wouldn't say where Andrea was, but I see you've found her," said Pete.
"Yup," answered MacGyver. "Nice set up, Pete."
An hour later at the Phoenix Foundation, Pete hung up his phone and said,"Kidnapping charges will hold them for a while. I wish we had something that would definitely link them to the drug case."
"Here, Mr. Thornton," said Andy removing a bracelet. " This has the name of the whole ring on microfilm. The microfilm is one of the beads. My parents gave it to me before the crash." After a moment's pause, she added," Is it back to the orphan's home now?"
"Yes," replied MacGyver.
"I'll take you there now," said Pete.
Returning from school Monday afternoon, Andy walked into the house. "Howdy," said a familiar voice from behind her. Whirling around to confirm what her ears told her, she exclaimed, "MacGyver!" Then she said nothing more but buried her face in his chest. Stroking her hair with one hand and resting his chin on her head, he asked, "Ready to go home?"
She pulled back and gasped, "What?! What did you say?"
"I said, 'Ready to go home?'" he answered with a grin.
"You adopted me! Oh Mac!" she yelled as she buried her face once more in his chest. "Let's go!" she said pulling him to the door. Laughing, he followed and they did just that.
