I think this won't happen unless the ratings for Episode 16 go through the roof and the show gets another season... but I think they might be recurring guest stars every now and then?

I like seeing the different casting calls that you've posted. It's interesting to see what extra parts they need.

Additionally, they blew up a truck in the streets today. Seems the "kaboom" was too big and the Fire Departement showed up...

Yes, they're quite interesting but mostly, they're looking for Extras. Also, I realized I'm very bad at speculating.

When they put out the casting call for a small statured Stand-In for a new recurring cast member, I made up a whack theory of MacGyver maybe having a half-sister (since the measurements indicated a kid being cast - at least it did to me - and MacGyver's Dad still being alive; I thought it might be quite possible him having another family).

I NEVER would have guessed that they were casting a new boss - and that cast member being a little person. So even if you know about a casting call, you'll never know what plot twist we'll get in the end

poor guys must be freezing out there... they're still filming in the streets.

I find it amazing nearly all the important characters have shown up within one season I mean shouldn't they split up these characters....

There are more important characters that should have been in the first season that still haven't made an appearance yet. They're throwing WAY too many characters into our faces from the original, and it's a bit much.

They need to calm it down a bit. A lot of these characters were introduced over the period of many seasons. The Coltons didn't appear until Season 4, and we only met one at a time after that.

I don't know why they feel the need to barrage us with as many characters as possible... =P

Maybe they think they have to throw in as many as possible to get the ratings up? It's still not clear if they get a season renewal or not. Also, many writers claim to be fans of the original show and might call dibs on their favorites characters to play with in case the show is cancelled?

But you're right, if they do get more season, all the characters will aready be "used up". On the other hand, that presents the opportunity to create new and original reboot characters that could be expanded within more story-arcs. Maybe they already have ideas for these as well.

In this Interview at aTVfest (starting at Minute 19), they talk about filming the crossover episode. Well, they don't talk much about it, because they can't . But apparently at least Lucas and George flew to Hawaii this week to film some scenes, so that's pretty cool. Also, Daniel Dae Kim has been shooting scenes in Atlanta.

I think the only reason it took longer to introduce some of these characters in the original series simply because the writers were working from a blank slate. It wasn't as if they intentionally said in season 1, "Let's not introduce the Coltons until season four, and when we do, let's just introduce them one episode at a time." The writers had to come up with a whole bunch of characters, and gradually figure out which ones would stick around, and which ones wouldn't. With the reboot, the writers already know which characters were popular, so it makes sense that they'd skip the "figuring it out" stage and just jump straight into putting the popular characters in the show.
