| Yuri is a Russian immigrant who MacGyver helped
escape from a Siberian prison to seek asylum in the U.S. He quickly became friends with
Penny Parker whom helped him to choose his new American name of Biff.
Note: In an earlier episode (A Prisoner of Conscience ) we see
Elya Baskin play a character called Demetri, but because neither MacGyver or Yuri seem to
to know each other in the Soft Touch episode it is assumed that the two characters are not
suppose to be the same.
