A former member of Australia’s SAS 4th squadron, Samantha Cage (Isabel Lucas) is recruited by Matty Webber (Meredith Eaton) to join the Phoenix team after she is discharged from the CIA for undertaking an unsanctioned mission to save a captured Navy Seal in Episode 2×01.
In Episode 2×04, Murdoc (David Dastmalchian) implies that she changed her name and has a checkered past; and that the rest of the team would be very unhappy if they knew the truth. (It’s never revealed if that’s actually true or if he’s just taunting her.)
She is ambushed and shot by Murdoc in her own apartment in Episode 2×11 but manages to alert MacGyver (Lucas Till) just in time. She returns home to Australia to recover; presumably to visit her sister who she hasn’t seen in years.
