I'll give **** stars. Useful tips too... telescope, white "dust" to hand censor.
One thing came to my mind. When the oxygen started to disappear from the place, Mac shows the air condition hatch on roof, to be only way to get out. Unfortunately the roof was made from ceiling panels which hell no couldn't stand their weight.

Without doubt, My favourite MacGyver episode! Don't know why. I just remember watching it when it first aired & loved it.
It used elements of Mac's character as he was in Season 1 & brought about something new as you saw his character evolve into the Mac we finally all grew to love.
To me, it almost was a rehash of the pilot episode in many ways as Mac is brought in to infiltrate a base but instead of rescuing people, to ultimately test it's security. The episode is played well. They knew more or less what they intended on the characters development & it definitely shown through. And this time, it was Pete & not Andy Colson.

Just last week I had to buy a new laptop, I say "had to" because my old one, that I'd had since 2010, was starting to act funny, locking up on me at the most inconvenient times,
I hate computers, or should I say I hate not always knowing what I'm doing on a computer, so it's thanks to a buddy of mine who sent step by step instructions for using MS Paint and to Kiwitek for helping me figure out how to post screen caps once I got MS Paint figured out.
Now, I just need to buy a copy of the original miniseries "V".
Stay tuned.

Did you know that this episode airs on the same date as the first episode of Lost but 18 years earlier?

A cool episode for the opening of the season. Macgyver shines as usual, and I thought the vietnam storyline about Pete and the Colonel was interesting.

OK, two observations... 1. This episode answers the age old question of boxers or briefs I was a bit disappointed though. I somehow thought Mac's underwear would be more colorful
2. Ever notice that Mac does all these stunts in jeans/khakis and decent shoes while the female side-kick has to do the same in a pencil skirt and heels?? I've been noticing this in a lot of episodes. Not that it's a bad thing. In fact, I think it makes the female characters stronger.

During this time, women were still considered to be less equal in strength / intelligence to men. So you have that damsel in distress with the hero typecasting going here.

I hoped for black but that's just my taste. And what Jill Ludlum is concerned. She worked in a lab and office, so I don't see her in jeans shorts and sleeveless top. Plenty of other adventureous women like Kate Connolly or Nikki in The Widowmaker.

Oh, I understand that! And I'm not some feminist who is against damsels in distress. Quite the opposite, actually, I see a lot of myself in the way those women dressed. I taught high school in heels and have actually run after wayward students in them! I've crawled under tables in tight skirts to talk students out of a pout. I appreciate the fact that these shows were filmed during a time when women dressed like women as opposed to shows like Criminal Minds where they are in casual, almost gender-neutral clothes. Even Scully in the The X-Files dressed more professionally and often wore heels and Mulder was in a suit and tie. Yet they got in some messy situations. I admire that!

They tended to 'dumb down' most of the 'MacGyver Women'. The 'MacGyver Girls' were more cerebral yet always needy/dysfunctional . Definite 'Valley Girl' tone/lingo to some of the female characters which kinda fits with an 80s California setting ... don't think I ever saw a bubble skirt though. Nikki was the definite exception to this trend/lean.

As long as they feel good about themselves. Whether it's a skirt with heels or a jeans with boots, it don't matter. Also Deborah in her good girls persona would fit the bill.
