I think RDA really is the kind of man you gotta keep an eye on later on when he really needs to be in the care of his family. Not saying he needs this now, maybe in 10-12 years. He's doing great at 68 and he can still take care of himself but I can picture him if he is in a resthome one day or in the care of his family, he would just leave without telling anyone and end up someplace he never thought he would. Or he would just simply hide somewhere and everyone would be looking for him. Once his mind his set, you can get him off it.

The pro-RDA consensus on his fan site seems to be that he turned around because the evacuation route was too dangerous - it's an interesting possibility, as some people did run into trouble in their cars trying to evacuate - although I have to wonder if that was due to waiting too long after the evacuation order. Either way, I'm glad he's okay!

I could be wrong but I get the feeling that forum is mostly women and mostly on the older side (as in long term fans, just speculation from comments about technology ). There are probably other people that are both here and there, and I swear I mean zero offense in that. It also seems there might be more O'Neill/Stargate fans - but Stargate is a bigger and more recent franchise than MacGyver so that makes sense.

Generally speaking I get more excited about a franchise than the celebrity - I figure why learn too much about actors when there is a good chance you'll not like some aspect and then it might taint your enjoyment of whatever show/movie you liked.

Of course MacGyver's character was fairly entwined with RDA so I know a bit more about him than usual lol

I didn't say old women fans lol, I said it was an older demographic (and never said I wasn't a part of that demographic lol) - somehow I knew I was going to offend someone, but it was purely observational - I found it interesting that there was a lot of criticism of RDA here and praise of him there. That's just when you realize that actors are also just human beings with flaws like anyone else. Nobody is perfect. I've seen some of my favorite actors do things I don't agree with but that doesn't make me like their work less. Sometimes they just do stupid things because they are undoubtedly under a lot of stress and pressure and get consumed by their name and fame. That's occupational hazard, I guess.

Well, you can still respect someone and not agree with them 100%. I mean, I argue with my siblings and my friends all the time, and we still love each other. Depends on my sass level and how cranky I am. XD

I don't follow things simply because an actor does. But I've seen fans be rude to other fans over nonsense... like misspelling a name. That's just silly.

It kinda reminds me of when I start a new multiplayer game, and the other gamers are rude because you're a low level player. That's not how you make friends... lol

That's probably due to that Scientology-thing years ago. Strange, because I think Tom Cruise seems like a nice person to me. He always smiles (unless that's the reason why a lot of people dislike him: he smiles) and he's got one hell of a career, so I guess he knows what he's doing when it comes to his career. That whole Scientology thing, it was probably blown up by the media too to give Cruise some sort of image but it never affected his career and I rarely hear bad things about him except that he makes one good movie after another.
