I've never started using the Facebook Search until looking for stuff about the reboot. I never realized until then how many people post about RDA and MacGyver.

Also, many people working on MacGyver are in their 50ies or 60s now - people of this generation didn't grow up with computer and social media, but are very comfortable using it. There must be tons of pictures out there that have been posted on social media that we might never get to see *sigh*.

I only stumble over them every now and then because they're tagged with #MacGyver or #RichardDeanAnderson.

Also, looking for MacGyver-Tag-Related stuff proves especially difficult because many people write it wrong. I used to scout for Hashtags like "mcgyver", "macguyver", "mcguyver" and every other variety of it back when they started filming the unaired pilot, but it's just too time-consuming.

Ever since I liked a few pages of MacGyver I have seen many pictures coming by I have never seen before. Like the one I posted here of him smoking a cigarette. Another one is RDA is on his bike to the set of Lesson In Evil.

I assume it's because with the reboot, it's kindled a lot of interest from former fans? I haven't seen many good quality pictures until recently.

I always found it interesting that nobody has anything bad to say about RDA. Anytime someone claims to have met him, they say he's a really nice guy.

I could never be famous... I'm too cranky. lol

Especially if you're an actor and have to be on set on 5am every day for 6 days a week... *zzzzzz*

I think it sort of depends on which level you are or want to be famous. I'd rather pass on the level where you can't do anything anymore without being spotted and everything is overblown on social media or in the tabloids. The level on where you are being lived through others. I'd rather have on RDA's level or maybe like Hugh Jackman. I think it's better to be a great actor than some superstar who can't go through a day without the paparazzi on their tail.

That's because he is a genuinely really nice person.

To be fair though, you don't hear of too many actors who aren't nice people. Only one I can think off right off the bat (no pun intended) is Christian Bale.

Heard some pretty gripey things about William Shatner.

From all the actors I've met RDA sure takes the cake on being nice. He's a real smooth and easygoing guy. Takes everything with a grain of salt, no stress... Despite what I heard on him being more of Jack O' Neill than as MacGyver, I think there's more MacGyver in him than it looks or than he perhaps want to admit. I think he will be like the nicest guy I'll ever met.

I met Robert Englund and Lance Henriksen too and they were also very nice. On the contrary on what we are led to believe even the big major movie stars are still just regular people like you and me but of course they're very busy and under a lot of pressure.

I don't hear much on Christian Bale anymore lately. Actually since The Dark Knight Rises. He's still in the business. He's got three projects coming. I heard he lost his temper once against a crew member on Terminator Salvation which was leaked out on audio file. In a later interview he said that they talked things over almost immediately after and worked together really well that day. And also later on I heard his sister pressed charges against him because he allegedly hit her. I can't remember how that ended but I think charges were dropped and he later refused to help when she needed money. That's all I heard. As always, you never know what's true or not or exaggerated.

That will not say he doesn't have an arrogant side or that there can't be others who are difficult to work with. I think it also depends on how long ago it happened and on how they are now. I heard Russell Crowe once threw a phone to an hotel clerk. Actors change, especially the older ones. Yes, Mel Gibson had a very tough time in recent years, but he seems to be on his way back. Sylvester Stallone had his share of awful years too but he's back now. By the time Rocky Balboa hit the screens he also wasn't the actor anymore he was in the '80s and '90s. Bruce Willis on the other hand seems to have his bad years now.

Yup - if anyone, it's usually those child prodigies that turn out a bit (ermm....) annoying/controversial.

Oh, I'm sure a lot of actors/actresses are really nice. But there is a difference between being a nice, and being genuinely nice.

It's hard to tell with actors because you never know if they mean it, or if it's just an act. You can tell that's it not an act with RDA, which is why I like him and want to meet him someday... one day... lol Eventually...

I hope you will ,Jediferret . I did ...twice . He's really nice . When you look at the pics from the conventions he went to (the last one was in France ,in Toulouse, in November ) you 'll see what I mean . It 'shows' .He really likes meeting his fans (though it's exhausting considering the lines ...) I remember in Germany a few years ago, people complained because he was too 'slow', cause he always wants to talk to each and everyone, and it takes time . He's often late.
In Ghent ,the convention was supposed to end at 5 pm and there were still people lining up for autographs so ...he was the only one in the building . Didn't want to disappoint his fans and each time said something nice,you know, not like a machine...

I will always assume it's not an act if I meet any of them. However almost everything is, how else can you say: 'Get your act together.' It takes only a little effort to be nice. But with RDA it is different. He really likes his fans and that's what's more important. When you love someone, you want them to love ya back. It's a two-way street, you know. And it says a lot in wanting to be somewhere and having to be somewhere. RDA wanted to be there for his fans but I'm sure some actors might think: I have to be there but don't really want to. I noticed in Amsterdam, a bigger con or at least with more and bigger actors than Ghent, lots of actors canceled at the last moment even if they were in the country. I missed one actor I wanted to see but it was no big thing and I can't even remember who it was, I think someone of Game of Thrones. But I think the actor should love his/her fans too just as much the fans love them.

Oh believe me, i have heard the stories. He seems to completely ignore George Takei. GT on many occasions has tried contacting him but Bill just ignores him. However contrary to interviews, he claims that George is the funny one.

He actually attempted to charge a kid for an autograph. A kid!!!!

And of course the comments he has made on others, The most recent being his Star Wars trolling by insulting star wars fans saying that Star Wars copies from other projects.
