Apparently RDA is set to appear in a SG-1 direct to DVD movie.

two direct-to-video films, Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum (the latter featuring Anderson), are due in less than a year, and more are possible, Wright says.

Thanks, Rock! Although I knew about that for some time, I wonder if he'll make an appearance in any of the others scheduled to come out later.

you have to ask why they are going direct to DVD instead of world wide theater release.

That surprises me too, Rock.
Given the popularity of the show across the entire planet, you'd think they would release them in theatres.

dry.gif Maybe because they know that a lot of people, like myself, knowing RDA won't be it for much more than a cameo appearance, will wait for DVD.

Gateworld site says 2008 - originally the first one - The Ark of Truth, was supposed to be this October, but because of the many visual effects, they had to move it to 2008. I don't know if RDA is in this one. Hopefully the second one - Continuium (spelling) will also be 2008 - I know for sure that RDA is in THAT one. rolleyes.gif jeep.gif

Has the final episode for 'Stargate SG-1' been aired yet?

And if so, is RDA going to be in it?

Apparently it has been and not only did Jack O'Neill not make an appearance, the character wasn't even mentioned, much to the pissoffedness of the fans. mad.gif

I never was into it, but my dad loves it. He said he hated it when RDA left the show and decided not to even bother watching the last episodes without him.

Actually, the writers did an interesting thing with the dialog in the script. Although Jack O'Neill (RDA) wasn't in the episode, the other cast members recite a boatload of Jack O"Neill cliches one of which - "Life's Too Short" is also one of RDA's creedos, so even though jack wasn't officially mentioned, RDA was there in spirit. I thought that was a nice touch, but I personally didn't care for the way it ended.

That's cool- Jack O'Neill is one character that's very much driven and energized by Richard Dean Anderson's own personality- I think definitely a case (probably just as much if not more so than MacGyver)- where the one actor- RDA- truly makes the character and no one else can truly replace him.

It'll be nice seeing RDA again in the StarGate SG-1 DVD movies.

Yeah, I didn't care for the last episode either. Not only the fact that Jack wasn't in it, wasn't mentioned but also for the episode itself it did not feel right that Thor would brake such a news to anyone else but O'Neill. Jack loved their little skinny grey butts sad.gif

P***edoffness. Love the word.
I only watched SG-1 because of RD, and I must admit I actually liked it, despite the fact I really do not like Sci-fi that much.

I hated S9 and 10 as he wasn't in. This Ben Bowder type of character tried to copy his sense of humor and he REALLY did not (I repeat DID NOT) pull it off.

And this Vala creature?! Could someone please kill her or at least leave her in an unknown galaxy or something? Man!!! Is she annoying! Please put her out of her mysery and at the same time end ours while you're at it. Djeeeez. puke.gif

Hi again,

Since everyone is talking about Rick being in that SG Continuum movie, I thought I would post a link to this video that someone on the RDA forum posted. This is a brief review of the movie, and has Amanda Tapping and Ben Browder talking about the movie and talking about their experiences being in the arctic. It's a neat video. It's a Quick Time Video and if you don't have Quick Time, you can download a free version of it on this site. I downloaded the video, and posted it on yousendit, so if anyone wants to download it, I will also post a link to it on yousendit. Anyway, it's worth watching. They show some scenes from the arctic that are really spectacular! Not to mention chilly! BRRR. Anyway, here are the links below! Hope you can see them. Also someone posted a link to it on youtube, so I'll post a link to that too. Hope you enjoy the video!

Take Care,
Nancy

PS, the video on the site takes a while to load, so be patient and it will eventually play. Just thought I would mention that. :-)

I agree with you Sheepy, 9 & 10 pretty much didn't do it for me either. The best episode was in season 10 "200", that's how I wish SG-1 had ended, with Jack leading the team through the Gate "one more time"
I wonder if the movies will air on Sci-Fi?

For me, it ended at the end of season 8, and only not just because RDA wasn't going to be in it (although that was big part of my decision...) I loved Farscape and was an avid watcher. Even got involved with the campaign to have another season or a movie made.

But it was such a (need a word... grrr! ...like clique...) show, and it had a small but very loyal audience. I liked it, and John Crighton's humor was very much like Jack O'Neill's. But when I saw Ben Browder act the same as John Crighton (albeit with a deeper accent...) it turned me right off. And Vala... well, that's a whole 'nuther rant. yucky.gif

These 2 wonderful actors deserved better, but I think the writers wrote themselves into a corner with really bad storylines. I'm really glad that RDA didn't stick around to see the train wreck it had become. Although with his influence, it might have turned out better. But I would never begrudge him for the decision to stay home with his daughter.

I'm probably going to skip the "Ark of the Truth" and looking forward to seing RDA in "Continuum".

Yep, seasons 9 & 10 didn't feel like Staragte SG-1 anymore, more like a spin-off

I'm looking forward to (hopefully) lots of behind-the-scenes-stuff from the shooting in the Arctic. That must have been quite an experience.
