Never thought I would start another topic in here but two days ago I reached my 20th anniversary here. I was 17 at the time, doing my tenth grade again in a new school with new people and it was the best time of my life and the start of me writing fanfics and actually finishing them as well. And actually I have been here ever since, almost every day of the past 20 years. Even to this day, the page is open despite there was never much activity here and with the coming of the facebook groups, this place is as good as dead. Nevertheless it was always a great time being here and I think I'll pretty much will stay here until either the end of days or the site goes down. But I guess that is up to whatever is decided. Thanks for 20 years! sak.gif

Thanks for staying here 20 years!

You were one of the founding members when we first opened the forum, and at times the most active member too.

It's been quite a ride over the years. It's sad to see everyone move away from forums in favor of social media, but that's the nature of online communities sometimes.

I liked your fan-fiction idea with the coin Mac could rub to make Harry appear. That was a cool idea.

We're looking into ways to preserve the fan fiction so it wont get lost if this very old forums software dies. Some of the fiction isn't saved anywhere else and it would be a shame to lose it after all the work people put into it.

Thanks for sticking around all these years and all the contributing you did here.

Thanks.

That first story was the first one I ever wrote from start to finish. And that coin thing was inspired on something I saw in Belgian sitcom where the grandfather had also passed away and gave an old Belgian coin to one of the characters telling him that when they rub the coin, he would appear and only the owner of the coin could see him. Of course it made everyone think around him that he became nuts, talking to someone who isn't there. That would make it copyright infringement basically but I didn't know that at the time nor do I intend to make money on it. It's just made in good fun.

But there are also many unlike Mac-elements in nearly all my stories. Language, violence and Sam basically kills Zito without remorse in that first story.

Anyway, I also posted the story on fanfiction.net and even as recent as last week I still got appreciation mails on it. So maybe I should post the others on there as well. I still have all my stories so no problem there that they would ever get lost. And otherwise I'll put them on rdanderson.com if necessary.

A little late to the party but congratulations MG. If anything, I vividly remember you ALWAYS being around and were incredibly fun to chat with and mindful over the site.

I miss all you guys and hope you are all well. Time certainly flies but I always remember the good times we have had. Even more, thrilled that the site is still up and running.

Im even later, but congratulations and thank you all for making this a great place to be. I miss how it was, and hope the tide will swing people back to the forum.

Hi! I joined a few years after you, (and was a frequent poster until life got annoying). The site is different than what it was, and I miss those that used to be here.

Dreams are important, otherwise sleep is just eight hours of nothing.

I call it an obstacle course. Some of the others call it MacGyverland.

Must have duct tape ... Lots of duct tape.
