LOL...good, maybe that would make those two finally grow up.
I do like the notion of more archaeological-related eps as those were always fun in the original. Being completely out from the government's input would have given Phoenix leverage to do more educational exploring and humanitarian work....and all the stumbling into random adventure that comes with it!

How could they do that if George doesn't come back?
Apparently, they didn't even ask him because they never considered. He might have been up to it with a different showrunner, who knows?
Also, that could have been handled off-screen with no problems. Finding a new clue that Jack is still out there; e.g. another postcard arriving. Stuff like this gets done on TV all the time.

As expected, they pulled the MacGyver reruns off schedule.
While that is disappointing, it's standard CBS procedure. On the other hand, witnessing CBS scramble to fill their Friday Line-Up sure is entertaining . This Friday will be a repeat of the Wednesday premiere.... just before the Magnum Season Finale. Next week is something about the queen... we don't know yet what queen.

But just as well, did the different showrunner ask him to come back. Do they even care. We don't know either ways.
This shipping stuff gets attributed to lenkov because he's the fave bad guy right now, but I feel the blame lies mostly at the feet of Monica. He doesn't seem the type if he doesn't even respect Lucas, & Mercer wouldn't be eager about continuing his path. And she seems the most firmly planted in that path thinking this would have lasted another 2 seasons on that trajectory in the interim, which is generous at best...

Justin has been sent multiple offers to audition for “best friend” roles since Macgyver ended but he points out the past 5 years of Macgyver should be a sufficient audition for a “best friend role.”
While I do agree with Justin on this, I think this behaviour might cost him a few good jobs to add to his resume and to make more industry connections (even if they're not really a challenge for him to sharpen his acting skills).
It's all about connection in the industry, so those "minor" best-friend-roles could help land him a really cool and high-profile gig?

He didn't say he doesn't care, he just said he's not auditioning for that, because all the episodes a casting director would get more than him just sitting and doing an audition for 5 minutes or whatever.
And from previous episodes of his podcast, he's not so much in that frame of mind anymore of going by a showrunner of asking permission for this and that. And he's more slanted towards more ownership and being a content creator. Especially with how wishy washy as we've seen networks are.
They addressed the idea that there's some secrecy about the show coming back for real as if they know something about it that we don't, it's just folks getting their hopes up. They do appreciate the interest though.
This is an older interview but I didn't see this before and I'm not sure where to find it on here, if it is posted.
Lucas gives more detail on the abuses from PL. And he was ready to quit if they didn't dismiss him. They threatened to "ruin his career", offered him more money, but he did not relent until he was gone. He really could have left

I posted it in the "Peter Lenkov FIRED!!!" thread in October. Last entry ;-).
But we never discussed it there; I guess most people weren't very active in the forum last autumn with filming and the Season 5 Premiere delayed.
Thanks.
I don't mean to compare and contrast, but it was good to hear Tristin's story about how she handles bullies and shady industry people BTS. So many times you hear about women having horror stories in the industry and with men, it's refreshing hearing a woman take charge of things, confront people and have face-to-faces. As nice as she def has a direct and edgy side, and would have probably called P.L. on his bull*censored*.
Luke had a different approach was to leverage his power and go around him like the letter O, and it worked.
