Just found this video of Lee David Zlotoff’s speech at the Maker Faire, where he tells a very interesting story of how he came up with the idea of MacGyver, where the name came from and how MacGyver is pretty much based on his father.

Looks like an interesting man. Shame he wasn't involved in the rest of the shows development. It could've turned out even better.

Yeah- very interesting story about the creation of MacGyver. It was neat finally seeing Lee David Zlotoff and hearing him talk about what's arguably his most famous show.

Another awesome find Rock!! He seems like a really nice person to be around. Very interesting to hear where the name MacGyver came from. It's cool to hear how he was "knighted" by getting his Swiss Army knife from his father. Thanks for posting!
