Pete Thornton's ex-wife. She divorced Pete twenty years ago when she
realized that his work was taking up more of his time than she was. Connie returned to
help Pete through his eye operation and revealed that she was now running her own travel
agency.

I don't know...I don't get much of a feel for her character. Maybe if I watch episodes featuring her again. I know they made the infamous "actor-switch" with her (a different actor playing her in different episodes), so that doesn't help. She didn't seem to be a strong presence in Pete's life, mostly because of their divorce, I guess. It's just hard to rate her. I give her average.
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer."
She was only in two episodes and one of those was only for a few minutes at the end.
She did seem to have put things behind her as far as their divorce goes and moved on with her life; and she defended Pete to his son regarding why he wasn't around much.
but we really didn't find out anything about her, and thinking back, it kinda felt like the writers only introduced her for the story line rather than feeding Petes background story.
so I think I'll give her an ok rating. She seemed to be able to stand on her own, which is more than you can say for some characters.

Hmm- well, it is hard to rate Connie Thornton, since she's a character that we only really saw for 2 episodes- "Family Matter" and "Hind-Sight" and Pete never really talked about her much that I remember, beyond the events in "Fraternity of Thieves" anyway. But I liked her well enough- like it was said before, she did defend Pete to Michael, regarding why Pete couldn't be around too much. And I thought "Hind-Sight" was an interesting twist- it showed some growth on her part I think. Getting past Pete's being married more to his job than his wife thing- and being able to support him in his time of need. I think that was pretty neat. So yeah, it was definitely nice to have her included as it gave some more back story on Pete and explained some of character a bit more too.

I gave her an average because I had to. Showing only up in Family Matter and Hind-Sight. Do have to say though that I like Linda Darlow better as Connie than the other woman. She seemed more mature than the other one. But there's indeed not much to say about her.

This is one of those characters that I say "huh?" to... I vaguely remember her. I didn't even realize she was played by 2 actors.
'Though I voted "Average", I'd really have to drag out the DVD's to really get a fix on her character. I haven't seen Family Matter in quite some time.
"My Jeep went over a cliff, I died... and went to Thanksgiving?"
I have to watch the episodes again to be sure. It's very difficult for me to decide. I don't really have an opinion on her as she only appears twice. And I haven't seen Hind Sight yet
I liked that she was on an archeological excavation in Family Matter because I love history.
yeah the archeology aspect is something they could have maybe used again in a story line.
thats one of the reasons I got the feeling the character was really just thrown in for the storyline. They never really expanded the character, even though opportunities to do so where there.
I agree with that. There were opportunities. I generally miss information on Pete's private life. We learn that Pete works a lot, that he has a son, that he likes fishing and - ??? Connie could have been a stronger character and as such she would have given Pete even more depth as a character or would have made Pete's background more special.

Of the few details we know about Connie, there are so many discrepancies between 'Family Matters' and 'Hind-sight’ that in my mind they could be two separate characters.
I liked the first Connie better than the second. I think the writers were trying to hard to make her notes to Pete threatening and suspenseful. Unnecessary drama.
