I doubt that's the intent... but I get where you're going with it. The title names don't seem to have much thought put into them. Metal Saw made me think of James Wan because of his Saw series. Not sure if that was supposed to be a tribute thing or not, but... ehh... lol

Until there is an episode called: Swiss Army Knife.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Still not much thought into it.
Okay, it's called Swiss Army Knife... why not Swiss Army Knight? XD
Supernatural has really good title names, as they like to play on words... especially if they're making fun of something. They'll make of anything... themselves, fans, fangirls, other shows, movies... you name it.

I don't really like the names, but I don't think it's done as mockery. Maybe it's a bit of light-hearted fun, but MacGyver is supposed to be fun, so that's fine. I am curious to see if/how the names match each episode.

When I first realized that the episodes will be named after SAK tools, I thought that was quite brilliant! I guess they thought about that concept back when the logo still had the SAK in it?
I've never seen MacGruber (we don't know SNL around here and the movie was never shown on TV - I don't even know if it's available on DVD to be honest); so I don't know the relation to that.

It wouldn't be so bad if they did that after every couple of episodes... but every episode? There aren't enough tools. XD
Besides... tweezers get no love...

Kinda makes you wonder who exactly are they trying to fool around here? XD I'm pretty sure most of the audience doesn't need THAT much help. I mean, my Dad owned a SAK before MacGyver was a blip in Zlotoff's imagination...
One thing I know for sure... toothpicks are really easy to lose...
Don't get me started tvero... I'm in one of my snarky moods. >:D
MWAHAHAHAHA!!!

At least I can pronounce these episode titles, unlike the Hawaii 5-0 titles... haha.
But seriously, it makes no difference to me at all. It's not even like in the original series where the titles appeared on screen at the beginning of the episodes. These days, the titles will only really be visible if they eventually release the series on DVD or BluRay, and then we'll see them on the menu screen. Other than that, it's pretty meaningless.

You know, I liked that. I like the name of the episode appearing on screen first. I always felt it belonged like that. The name of the episode, the guest stars, the created, written and directed by credit. And at the end the producers names and the occasional to be continued credit. Maybe nowadays, it is no longer necessary with season length storylines. I can't imagine an older series not doing that. I like to know what episode I'm watching and I don't care if I actually know that already. It's part of the whole episode.
