Rare MacGyver collectables are set to be sold off in a special Sea Shepherd Conservation Society charity sale aimed at raising money to cover the setup costs of a new memorabilia auction page which will see actual campaign-used items auctioned off to raise funds for the various Sea Shepherd campaigns.

Being run by Legends Memorabilia & Collectibles, the sale will include a wide variety of unique items such as long time Sea Shepherd supporter, Richard Dean Anderson memorabilia, including his own personal MGM/Stargate crew jacket along with other items such as…

- Exclusive original silkscreen art prints of whales, signed by Richard Dean Anderson.

- Rare MacGyver collectibles

- Autographed Film, TV and Historical memorabilia

- Autographed music memorabilia (albums, drumheads, guitars)

- Stargate, Andromeda and X-Files memorabilia

……plus much more, with many surprises!

The special sale is due to run through all of January with a note on organizer Paul Brown’s twitter account saying they are waiting on signed items from Captain Paul Watson to arrive before starting the sale.

I doubt I'll be able to purchase anything but I'll definitely be watching to see the photos.

AWESOME! I'll be checking it everyday. Let's hope there are articles of clothing or recognizable props up for bid. Screen used s for example.

It'll be interesting to see how it's set up and how bids are accepted. I'm all for the protection of whales but also saw an autographed pic of RDA with a seal pup .... and am not against the annual seal harvest which is so important to many local livelihoods.

I would think some items such as RDA's on-set jacket will rocket into the thousands.

I'm certainly interested in seeing what the MacGyver items will be.

We're nearly half way through the month and still no sale!

There's not even any teaser pictures of items which were suppose to "appear shortly".

Not impressed at all with their site. There are several clickable sale category links with no products at all .... only promising to update soon.

Paul Brown has just tweeted that the auction starts tomorrow (Jan 24) at 6pm PST and will run until Feb 11 with "buy it now" items staying open for 30 days or until they sell.

Well I'm rather disappointed to say the least.

Legends Memorabilia tweeted that RDA is sending a package tomorrow with MacGyver and Legend goodies for the auction.

Time to respond to some of the comments on here about the auction.

MacGyver items: We are still awaiting receipt of the items from RDA which is why you are not seeing them yet. There have been personal reasons at his end as to why they have not been sent out. We are still hoping this will happen before the end of the sale on the 11th but this is something unforeseen and beyond our control.

Website: I regret that the website is not to your liking but we are restricted in the design and 'look' of the site by virtue of the structure of the auction software that we are using. If we could give the site more pizazz, then we would do so. Nevertheless, it is functional and it does the job.

SSCS rope: This may seem a trivial item to some, but there are many people who want to support Sea Shepherd and owning a little piece of something that was used on one of the ships means a lot to them. Perhaps the significance of how that piece of rope was used maybe lost on some people.

Stargate jacket: That item is being added to the auction this week. We still have many items to list and shall be doing so each day.

SSCS charity: This auction is intended to help raise funds for Sea Shepherd and we are including as much variety as we can. As Richard Dean Anderson is so closely tied to SSCS, we are trying to include items relating to him that may be of interest to his fans. That includes series such as Stargate, Legend and MacGyver. If we had more MacGyver items then they would certainly be included. As I said earlier, we're hoping that Richard's package arrives soon.

Regardless of the complaints, we appreciate your interest in the auction.

Yes it is functional which at the end of the day is the main concern. Now that there are more items to explore the layout and design takes more of a back seat as the focus is on the items.

I hope your site can handle all the attention that will attract!
