The bracelet worn by MacGyver is a Gulf War memorial bracelet.. I believe it had the name of either a Missing in Action, or a Killed in Action, soldier.

I wondered about that too. Thanks for that information Rock. I wonder if it was an item that was part of the MacGyver wardrobe like his clothes and watches or was it maybe a RDA thing and he wanted to wear it in character too.
Actually, I wonder if any of the MacGyver clothes and accessories are things that Rick went home with at the end of the day. If so he probably never needed to buy a roll of in his time filming MacGyver – he could just take some of the props home.

Later it became gold in Hind-Sight. Funny how you notice things on the character during the series. In the Pilot episode he wore a necklace.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.
Maybe that's why they used so many SAK models on the show, coz Rick kept walking off the set with them.

Well I've noticed that MacGyver always wears white socks, and RDA has said in interviews that the only ever wears white socks. So it might not be so much a case of RDA taking home MacGyver stuff as RDA using his own stuff for MacGyver.

FWIW, costume items aren't supposed to walk off the set (nor are props), even minor things like socks -- in fact, there are Equity regulations requiring that certain items have to be washed frequently. It's more likely that the white socks were another personality aspect of RDA that rubbed off on MacGyver.
Bear in mind that at the end of a show, or a day's filming, the actors don't just go home -- they clean off their make-up, shower, and get back into their own clothes. Depending on the locale and the performer, they either turn in their costumes to a central wardrobe location, hang them up in the dressing room closet, or leave them strewn in tangled heaps around the dressing room for the wardrobe staff to pick up.
That said, stuff does vanish all the time; I once spent hours on a customised undergarment for a performer who shall remain nameless, but whom I can justifiably call a full-blown diva. This garment was nowhere to be found when we inventoried the costumes at the end of the show. I was amazed to see it again, several years later, when she was brought back for a different role in a different show . . . even more amazed to hear that she claimed to have bought it in an exclusive European boutique! Trust me, I can recognise my own hand-stitching. Well, at least she appreciated my workmanship.
There was nothing we could do about it but laugh at her behind her back. So we did.

Some do. I was recently watching the "Seaver Family Reunion" feature on my Growing Pains Season 1 DVD, and they comment about how Alan Thicke used to walk off the set wearing the wardrobe from the show. So finally they started making scenes with him wearing a nightrobe the last thing he filmed for the day- they figured he wouldn't walk off the set wearing just a robe!
I was actually thinking along the lines that RDA might have just left his own socks on... maybe he has some weird hangup about only wearing his own socks or something

I only wear white socks... though not the big tube socks for which RDA is so famous...
My feet are happier with light cotton socks. Dark socks are fine for formal times or dress-up, but they make my feet hot and uncomfortable if worn daily.

I thought that leather jacket he used in MasterCard commercial was the original used in MacGyver? It sure looked like it (...and was a tad small on him then too...)
"My Jeep went over a cliff, I died... and went to Thanksgiving?"
In our 2014 interview with Richard he explained that in season 1 the brown bomber jacket was his own personal jacket which he was also wearing when he auditioned for the role.
