Coming January 18 2007 in our stores. I only bought the third season in September and now for only about 5 months later the fourth one is coming. The times between two season are getting shorter and shorter. It took years for the first season, 9 months for the second season, approximately 7 months for the third season and now hardly 5 months for the fourth. With any luck I have the inkling that the fifth season might come either in May or June next year.

The store I usually buy my dvds from has "MacGyver Season 4" on January 11.

A belated birthday present but I don't care.

So I bought the box. The sound seemed very much improved considered the thunder effects in The Secret of Parker House.
Now when I began watching The Outsiders I realised they altered the opening sequences. I didn't realise it at first but they. When I taped the episodes during the reruns each opening sequence of every episode from The Secret of Parker House throughout Passages contained footage of the actual episode that was about to be shown! Two screenshots to be exact. Instead they placed the shots of Back from the Dead where he slides down the fishnets and Trumbo's World when jumps of the mountain.
In On a Wing and a Prayer for instance the sequence has footage of MacGyver throwing the lamp on the ammo shack and the plane going over the water.
In The Challenge footage was shown of MacGyver and Larson fighting.
In The Invisible Killer footage of MacGyver running through the woods. This was used more than once.
In Brainwashed it was MacGyver sliding down the dragon's mouth in the funfair.
This way of showing the opening sequences continued in the fifth season.
In Legend of the Holy Rose they show him climbing the rope at the castle.
Black Corsage him driving the car forward again.
Cease Fire cutting off the bomb.
Halloween Knights him diving away when Murdoc tried to run him over.
This was also used more than once just like the footage of Black Rhino when Ladysmith and he are hanging at the dam.
These are just examples of some episodes but there's more than that.
So yet again they couldn't let it of changing anything while it wasn't needed instead of doing what we want and adding extra's to it.
When I realised this just now, I was thinking if I should even bother to complain. So I did, but I don't think it changes nothing. Unless they're wise enough to keep everything in it's original state for the big box that was set for May. And with original I DO MEAN ORIGINAL like it was aired in the 80's and 90's. Since they altered it there is maybe one good thing to it because for some reason when they aired the episodes here The Survivors and Deadly Dreams both had the second season opening sequences and Ma Dalton seemed to have a mix up. It was the original sequence but what I saw didn't mix with the theme. When the sequence was over, music was like halfway. Doesn't make any sense.

Hmm, interesting what I noticed what wasn't shown during the airings here but apparently on the Runners episodes on the DVD, RDA telling the phone number to call when you need help.

I remember Knight rider did that too on some episodes.. I'd have to check to see if its the same on the DVDs.. I have a feeling those "coming up" previews are actually on teh DVD set of knight rider.

Than, I'm starting to think they might have done that on Magnum PI as well. I'm not sure on that however.
Unfortunately, those memories are too far away to remember since there were like at least 15 years in between and leaves me unable to compare with the dvd's.

Still if I can save those 'previews' as Rock calls them, I'll do it.

I just finished season 4. Season 4 in total is a very good season with lot's of good episodes with exception of Fraternity of Thieves and Gold Rush being my least favorite episodes, that and Teri Hatcher's awful acting. Secret of Parker House had a nice story but Penny acts more childish than in her previous episodes. I mean 'looking after' is one thing but this seemed more like 'don't let her out of your sight for too long'. He's right outside, you know. And she is so easily scared something she didn't appear in Every Time She Smiles or Soft Touch. 'Penny, it's me.' 'Oh, MacGyver, it is you.' Please. Also the whole Jacques Leroux squeaking is a bit overdone. 'Please. Jacques wouldn't do this.' 'There is no Jacques Leroux.' Thank you, Murdoc. Thank you. And still she keeps thinking he does. You know Cleo Rocks is my least favorite episode of Murdoc. The whole musical setup to get to Mac is a little far fetched though maybe a subtle approach to get to him instead of mines and flames might do the trick. I think it's mostly Penny being to problem here. Once Mac goes after Murdoc below the theatre the episode sort of recovers. There is still the boobytrap to escape from and the fight. Also Jack has a few show ups. In On A Wing And A Prayer, my favorite of this season, Ma Dalton, Brainwashed and Unfinished Business. On A Wing And A Prayer is my favorite because it just reeks to adventure. I think it's the most adventureous episode of the season. Going undercover as arms dealers to get Pete out of a jam and above all Mac having to ask Jack for a favor for a change. Brainwashed is another great episode in which our beloved trio get involved in an assassination plot with Mac having to figure it out. The Survivors and Deadly Dreams were also very good. The Survivors has my favorite Pete moment in the cave for that final jump. That really gives me the rush. Zito makes his first appearance and also The Challengers Club in quite a hard episode directed by Dana Elcar. This is a real great episode and Dana showed his directing skills. Another one amongst my favorites is actually The Battle of Tommy Giordano. An episode with great ambience or maybe I just have this thing for Mary Ruth. The real maternal type, who knows she can do and be a lot more but was always oppressed by her husband. The episode is strong and has a great musical score. We also see the return of Deborah in the seasons finale. In all a very good season.

I think you'll find that the difference is due to region.

They haven't changed anything, your seeing the US versions of everything instead of the European versions.

If you go searching you'll (hopefully) find a discussion on this very topic. Different regions had some variations.. don't ask me why... makes no sense to me.. but dems the facts man.
