I think I know why...... There's no information about the company. No name or branding or any identification at all https://goo.gl/maps/S9DkDhdyxHA2. From reading the site it sounds like it belongs whomever made that site... says things like "we are a family business" This might be what's ringing alarm bells for some people  |

| Hi, I met this leather shop thanks to Antonio (Spainmacgyver) and I have a jacket of these (just received, I have this jacket hours ago). Good quality leather and superb manufacture. Close to the old scully and very similar to charles chevignon jacket. Mine is predistressed lambskin, like Mac's jacket. I'm very happy with it. I'm spanish too, I talked to the owners of the store on Friday and today I have my jacket in my hands. They are elderly people and very kind, they are not in the internet world for now. Antonio is helping them. I promise more quality photos. Thanks MacAlon, in about 3 - 4 weeks the new Charles Chevignon, 100 % identical to MacGyver. Interior identical and exterior identical and all details. Thanks for collaborating: Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Japan, etc ... In short, Europe. The final price will be 259 Euros, The sale is only for Europe. | Hello everyone. I upload some images of the new jackets newly manufactured. We have reproduced the 80's chevignon logo as faithful as possible. Respecting the manufacturer's brand and origin cauntry. The identical lining to the old Chevignon wasn´t possible to find it, with what we have opted for the most similar one. The leather itself is Pre-distressed Lambskin, to have a vintage look: tanned in this way in the tanneries. I hope you like it. | I would think it would be the antique because it's old. He's had it for a very long time. The pre-distressed is used to make new jackets look old? MacGyver's jacket was actually THAT old. |

Yes, it´s a type of leather. Predistressed lambskin, antique lambskin ... It is a type of tanning that is given to leather to look old, but has no chafing or holes. It is brand new and smells new.
This predistressed leather existed in the 80s. But Mac's jacket seen in darker in some interview images, that is, the leather was tanned in a darker color. With time it was acquiring the look of distressed leather. |

| I've been collecting G2's for a while and the idea of a Chevignon replica is certainly appealing. MacAvalon's jacket looks decidedly cool, but some of the other pictures I've seen on the manufacturers website and on ebay don't look quite as nice. I'd say the collar and the pockets would need to be adressed in order to truly replicate the look of Mac's Chevignon. Perhaps some of the members with one of the originals could post some pics to help them nail the pattern? Also, for those of you who have this replica, could you post pics wearing it? It's one thing to see the jacket on a hanger and another thing altogether to see how it drapes around a true Macgyver fan :-) |
