The car pursuing Mac drives over some spikes, and comes to a complete stop with the wheels practically on top of these spikes. However, with no time passing between cuts, the car has instantly moved forward so that the spikes are not in view.

When Mac and the girl drive away from the cemetery, Mac puts his sun glasses on as the car starts to move, then as the camera angle changes suddenly his glasses are gone, and we see him put them on a second time.

How did Piedra know who his target was ment to be? and why did he continue his assasination attempt if he didn't get paid?

When Piedra throws the knife and Mac stops it with the wooden hammer, a string is vissible, used as a guide for the knife. The same effect is used in the pilot, when Mac throws the SAK to the wooden cage in the opening gambit.

You can see the string? blink.gif

I always thought that was how they did it, but I've never been able to see it.

I'll have to watch that scene more closely.

You can see it for a couple of frames, and it is difficult to spot it. You have to watch for the string reflection, that moves up and down with the wooden hammer movement.

The biggest problem with this episode is how Piedra knew the Bishop was the target. He didn't get the phone call or the briefcase.

There is no way he would have known. That part is not explained and a huge hole in the story. We are all just supposed to be swept along by the story and action that most of us will have missed that and never question it.

I must admit that I didn't notice it the first few times I saw the episode. laugh.gif

I can explain away not getting paid by thinking..."Well, he was doing it for his reputation as an assassin at that point." but I cant explain away how he would know who to kill....

I still like the episode. This is the precursor to Murdoc. Too bad they killed him off but I like the way they did it....kind of like an accident.

To answer the question at the end of the episode. No Mac....You couldn't take him... Sorry... boxing.gif biggrin.gif

My thinking is that if he was free, he could definitely contact his employers at that point to confirm the target. Since we didn't follow him after he escaped, I assume that's what happened hmm.bmp

"Are you crazy?" "It's been rumored..."

I think his death was meant more like ironically. Killed by his own weapon.

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.

It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.
