The MacGyver Reboot is in syndication now.

A few weeks ago, it started airing on The CW and other affiliates. Starting last week, CBS Atlanta has two episodes on Saturday nights. The order of the episodes is pretty random, but so far it's Season 1 and Season 2 episodes.

In parallel, it's still available for streaming on IMDb.

I watch regularly when I can on IMDB.

All Rise got picked up by OWN even though it has less viewers (I'm glad it did). Folks are using this to say our ship is coming to shore.

I was a bit surprised about All Rise, but good for them. It was a co-production with WB though so I guess CBS wasn't that interested in keeping it.

I've never seen an episode, but I assume yes. Probably a lot less expensive action scenes and outdoor scenes. But the fact that it's not produced in-house but partially paid by WB surely plays a part as well.

What does it mean that MacGyver is a Syndicaion now? If it's on CW now does that mean CW (or someone else) might order a 6th season? Did such a thing ever happen to any show before?

Thank you. So it looks like CBS wants to still earn money with it. Someone would have to pay a lot to get the rights. I saw a podcast with Lucas Till and Justin Hires. They said they would love to work on a 6th season if Netflix or Paramount Plus would offer it. Is there a realistic chance something like that would happen?
I would really really like to see the end of the Mac and Riley story but since they already spoiled how season 6 would have been like I doubt it will ever get filmed :-(

There's always a chance it can happen if there's money to be made with it.

But I feel like since the Reboot was started under old CEO Les Moonves, the new CEO boss wants to leave his own footprint and the Reboot got them a lot of negative press regarding diversity and bullying and the upcoming lawsuit. The fact that they cancelled it despite average ratings tells me they're not really interested in continuing it. And yet, they also don't seem interested in selling the rights so I think there's a bigger chance they'll do another reboot with the franchise.

All in all, it doesn't really matter that both Peter Lenkov and Monica Macer told us how S6 would have looked like because they would probably hire a third showrunner and/or new writers so it would probably be something completely new. Also, the longer it takes, the more likely that not all actors would be available if the show came back with the same cast. That means new regular and recurring cast members and potentially new storylines.

Yes and I understand about the actors. They have to make a living. My son loves the reboot...and I do too.

If we were to get a sequel show on CW with Lucas Till as Mac I would be fine with just him and adventures similar to the original series/tvmovies.

I'd like that. It's a proven theme that should go over well.

I like the idea of a sequel show. Why not call it The Phoenix and let it rise from the ashes.

And please bring back Jack somehow. Fake dead body... empty coffin... Jack still captured in some East-European jail or something....

"The Phoenix" as title would make sense for a sequel.

Problem is, CBS doesn't seem interested to let the show continue. And they probably don't like Lucas very much, either.

In syndication, reruns could go on for years.

Finally got around to catching some episodes of the reboot on ION, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. Not bad at all.

I think the reboot is going to be like the original in that the fan base is only going to grow as more people discover it. Dash, I think your work is just beginning

ionTV has once again changed their schedule.

three episodes of the MacGyver Reboot will now ear on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The Reboot has been pulled from ionTV.

Starting January 6, it will air on "ion Mystery" instead. (Not sure if that's as widely available as ionTV, but I hope people still get to watch it.)

So the cast still gets some of that syndication money, yay.
