Water's Edge Part 1

Wow, it sure doesn't take Mac and Sam long to find an adventure, even on vacation!! I absolutely loved all the description in this chapter from the lake, to the fish, to the algae. VERY well done!!! Sam is just like a big, curious kid! I love it!! Also love how you describe the escalation of his restlessness! I still think it's funny when Sam slips on the rock and ends up with his leg in the lake;) Sam's crack about Mac getting old is great and ties in great with the ending. Poor Mac, can he keep up?!?! Great chapter!!!

Finally got a chance to read this! I agree with Jas, especially about Sam calling Mac old. Looking forward to part 2!

Water's Edge Part 2

Oh wow! So much great stuff happening in this chapter!! First of all, the scientific knowledge, terminology and descriptions are awesome! I love Sam's passion to help and how he goes into reporter mode when he's talking with the high school kids. I also like how Mac is portrayed as more mature, logical, and methodical...good mentor for Sam! 'Premier scientific organization'! Sounds like something Mac would come up with and great tie in with his own high school days and history with Mission City! Ah, good ole Mac deciding to volunteer to fix the pavilion roof:) Alix seems like a strong character...want to read more about her! LOL when Mac points out to Sam that the kids include him in the "older adult" category! And then when they're trying to get in the hatchery and Sam says Mac had a traumatic brain injury and had to become a janitor....OMG....Too funny!! And I love the banter between the two of them that follows! And of course Mac will just walk right through a door that says "employees only"!! Super great job this week!!!

Yay! Lol, Sam and the twinkies!

Mac is gonna have his hands full trying to keep those teens in line!! But Alix is really bright...good thinking on her part to change the phone conversation when Neil came back. I really like how Mac is letting Sam take the lead on the case but still keeping him in check a bit:) Wow, an offspring of MacGyver's eating Twinkies! He'll have to set Sam straight on that! Yay...duct tape holding the key in place!! Great job!

Lol, I'll never get tired of Mac and Sam's banter Great job!

Very exciting chapter...but sad to see it end! Okay, so Sam's line about how the algae "poops out alcohol" is probably the best in the entire story!! Aw, poor Mac gets knocked unconscious...again! I really like the tension in the conversation when Sam wants to listen in on the scientists and Mac wants to get out and call the police. Love the MacGyverism with the fire extinguisher and lights...also liked to see the baddies turn against one another! The ending was very cute...the way Mac struggles to explain who they are and Sam jumps in with the scholarship idea...which Pete is just gonna love...NOT! And Mac trying to hit on Alix's mom...go Mac!!! Very well done!!!
