Production for Season 5 has started.


So far we don't know much what's going on, but all news for pre-production, the filming process itself and post-production will be posted in here.

Be aware that there are spoilery BtS photos and casting calls posted in this thread, but I will add an additional spoiler warning if necessary.

I'd like to keep this first post as a schedule overview that gets updated regularly, so you can come back every now and then to check quickly what's coming up next.

Interesting that it's 501.

Wonder where the "in the can" S4 episodes will fit in...

I'm assuming they'll just rename 4x14 into 5x01 and air the 6 already filmed episodes; then re-writing the 2 or 3 they weren't able to film and starting a new storyarc.

With the new safety protocol and guidelines, they won't be able to put in new episodes between stand-alone episodes that have already been filmed...

Wonder what the new Covid precautions will be, I don't think Tristin will be too happy if there aren't any....

The Hollywood Guidelines are similar to the Georgia Guidelines. I'm not sure if the Reboot has to follow the ones for Georgia only or if they'll also adapt to the ones for Hollywood (since the production studios are based in LA) in case they are stricter.

Any hard date for shooting the "first" episode?

Sadly, I haven't even seen a "soft" date yet *sigh*...

I think besides "All Rise" and "MacGyver", all the CBS crime/drama shows have a date announced - interestingly both are shows with a sudden change of showrunnrers.

I guess with 5 or 6 episodes already available, MacGyver simply isn't a priority for CBS at the moment for start of production.

yes, it looks like Murdoc will be back

David was on set when they filmed 4x11. But look at the date for the revisions and the production number. they were just done last month so this is an episode they haven't filmed yet.

Of course, it's possible they rewrote one of the scripts they didn't manage to film in Spring, so 4x21 or 4x22. I remember Jim Adler saying he was fired by Lenkov when the news broke about Lenkov being fired by CBS... so it's possible they rewrote either 421 or 422 or they rewrote another "leftover" script by him when he was still on board.

I think they might have changed the titles if they didn't have any leftover episodes of Season 4. Wonder how long they're willing to keep that up... they never show the titles after the opening credits though so guess it doesn't really matter to them. It's just getting really hard to remember them. I sorta stopped in Season 3...

What is the significance of S-218?

his agency file "name" was suspect 218.

it's probably an Easter Egg to the OG show because Murdoc was introduced for the first time in Episode 2x18.

I like the German names better, they make more sense
