Facebook can be a a place for a quick snippet or dose. BUT forums are where the real discussions can take place.

I've been reading so much insightful discussions over the years on here. You can really dig down deep.

I've always been here (20 years next month) but the Facebook groups has mostly taken over from forums and you can have great discussions there as well. There's also still rdanderson which is more active than this place. It's been pretty dead in here last years except the reboot section. Sometimes I wonder why this place is still in the air. I hate it to see it go down but the Facebook groups are just the next step. I'm part of two MacGyver Facebook groups and there is much more activity there. One of them is the Facebook page of this forums. The amount of like or comments I get on my posts has already been more in the few years I'm there than in the 20 years I'm here. I have no intention of leaving unless the guy who started this place decides to put an end to the forums but I don't think he will anytime soon.

my problem with FB is you can't have a meaningful discussion, you can ask a question or start a dialogue but don't get many sentences out of people, just a like or heart or 3 word answers.

To me forums still have their place in the internet world. We just need more activity But thanks for being here if you're reading this

I don't use facebook or other social media. I prefer the anonymity.

I left the FB group some time ago now because it just got...bizarre, for lack of a better term. It was interesting when I first joined it, especially hearing from those who worked on the show, but then it just got flooded with weirdness.

I still far enjoy the message board format for things, though every one has a fraction of the traffic it did 15-20 years ago. Better sense of community too, IMO.

Couldn't agree more. I left Facebook about 4 years ago and haven't missed it one iota. Not a fan of sites that steal my data/personal info. I still prefer specific forums like this where so many topics related to a subject like MacGyver can find their home. Keep "MacGyver Online" online!!
