This is part of Entertainment Weekly's "Rainn Wilson as..." series of short video clips where he spoofs popular or iconic TV shows.

So far they have 4 videos.. one of which is Rainn Wilson as.. MacGyver.

In spite of the obvious spoof nature of the video, he actually makes some informed, if not accurate observations about the character of MacGyver.

Uh... never heard of him. He looks like Jack Black/Robert Carlyle to me. Seems like a guy with good intentions, he at least knows something about the characters. Seeing him imitating Xena, he's sure someone who's doing and seeing it all in what he does.

Though he was funny as Xena but only Lucy Lawless herself can really spoof the character.

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you.
It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

I was about to panic and think that they were going to cast this guy in the MacGyver movie! Whew! Thank goodness it's a spoof!

Then again, if they don't cast RDA in the movie, I have no faith that they can find a suitable replacement, but that's another topic for another day...
