Ok so every year i watch both tv movies around thanksgiving as well they aired around then and yeah but in watching it this year?

When do they take place?

No mention of Sam, Mac?s kid and plus well in trail to doomsday either the villains are incredibly dumb as the kgb had a dossier about Macgyver that Natalia had to have access too or in the tv movie universe Mac never worked for DXS but even that doesnt make sense as he acts like a hardened spy lecturing Tony on why he cant wear a wire the whole point where he calls Natalia out as KGB? hell even as Phonex Foundation the KGB had dossiers in him specifically in the two parter Lost love which was thr season 3 opener i think?


Can someone explain this to me either its a plot hole or Natalia is an idiot.

The movies are completely separate from the TV show. They exist within their own universe.

Movies takes place after the series. Mac also says he had seen enough of those pens in his time. So he's clearly retired.

Just because someone has a dossier about you doesn't mean everyone read it and simply because there was no mention of MacGyver's workplaces in the movies doesn't mean he never worked for them. He knows his way around in the spygame and he's experienced enough to know how the game is played. It's not a plothole and Natalia is not an idiot. The KGB was a big organization that no longer existed when the movie was released so MacGyver's file may have gotten lost if there ever was one. In GX-1 MacGyver asks Starkoss what kind of dossier they had on him assuming there is one but if there was one Starkoss is a fraud yet everything pointed out Starkoss actually was a psychic.
