To celebrate MacGyver's birthday iFixit have released this Action Hero Toolkit.

Housed nicely inside an Altos-sized tin, this kit contains a selection of the most useful everyday items to fuel your inner MacGyver in times of need.

The kit includes a bobby pin, a single match, a rubber band, a piece of unchewed bubble gum, a birthday candle, a paper clip, a shoelace, a one-cent stamp, and a small piece of duct tape. You'll need to provide your own Swiss Army Knife and mullet though.

The kit is selling for $9.95.

This seemed familiar to me somehow, but maybe that's because I buy Altoids now and then, or because I was was building a DIY headphone amplifier in a altoid tin a couple years ago.

It looks like there's some room in there for upgrades, like maybe more matches, a battery, some wire, etc. Or how about a higher value postage stamp? lol I guess it's more of a novelty than something really useful.

I wonder what would happen if you tried getting on a plane with this? Probably they would either laugh and let you go, or you'd wind up in a small room being stripped and touched inappropriately.

They don't bother taking you into small rooms any more. They just violate you out in the open these days.

You have a point, for a moment I was confused and thought some mall cops... I mean TSA "agents" might actually be regular people with regular common sense. But nope, with all the horror stories I've read I'm sure you are very right, KiwiTek.

One of the worst I heard was where they dropped cremated remains on the floor, then stood there and laughed while the family member crawled around on the ground trying to pick them up. So I guess they do have a sense of humor. In a sick and demented way.
