Just curious.
I just read a message that in Belgium the shootings of two Flemish soaps are being delayed until further notice because of the virus.
Now I'm wondering, how's the shooting for the reboot going? Still going as planned and on schedule or are they going to delay the production of future episodes as well?
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

CBS put the kibosh on production for the rest of season 4 during the filming of episode 20.
This season will be 19 episodes, unless they choose to end after 13 (where the Codex arc has been expected to finish), and push the remaining six to a potential Season 5.
As if this show hasn't been jacked around enough since the original pilot (which I still wanna see!).

Yes, the show sure has to endure a rollercoaster of emotions almost every season. In my opinion, the corona pandemic will affect the TV schedule for a longterm. They should be finishing the pilots for pilot season. It will be immensely difficult to sell shows without a pilot to show for and and without knowing if they can even start filming by Summer.
It could very well be that CBS uses MacGyver as a "filler" in the empty Fall schedule; holding back the rest of the episodes. The show would be ideal for this since - as mentioned - the show was intended for a 13-episode-arc anyway. No matter if the show is renewed or not, this would give them enough time to film and edit the rest of the episodes aka the "real" Seaosn 4 finale later since they wouldn't need to air before December.

Where is it written this season will only be 13 episodes?
The season has more episodes. They ordered 13 episodes first and pushed it to midseason, than ordered 9 more episodes back in November or so.
But there's the possibility that with CBS not being able to film/sell their pilots for pilot season and resume filming in Summer, they run out of shows to air in Fall. So in theory, they could simply air the first 13 episodes (with the midseason finale concluding the first half) and hold back the rest of the episodes until Summer or Fall.
Many shows like "Bull" or "Blue Bloods" weren't able to film their season finales. They will run out of episodes 2-3 weeks earlier than planned. They probably can't air the BB season finale together with the season finales of Magnum and the midseason finale of MacGyver on May 15 as initially planned.
