Guess what? I've finished chapter four so I'll send it up and perhaps soon enough you'll get to read chapter five too. Right now after what happened last night in the story, they think it's time to start an investigation. But I ain't going to say much more, cause you'll read it anyway. And remember feedback will be rewarded. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
(We fade in with soft, tender, mysterious music comes up here and fades away then)
Chapter Four
The start of the investigation
Willis’s explanation
Research
Allie’s PlaceThe next morning. I heard the telephone ringing in my hotel room but still far away in my sleep. It was such a beautiful dream. Usually I don’t dream after I’ve been through something like last night. Mostly it’s just blackness I see during my sleep after an adventure. The dream was about Allie. Allie and me. We were outside on the beach. Such a beautiful landscape. The ocean was calm and the sky looked so yellowish as during the sunset. She was standing there on her bare feet in the water. Wearing a long jeans and a white T-shirt. I came on the beach, she had her back turned to me. When I saw her there, I started to run for her.
‘Allie?’
She doesn’t respond.
‘Allie?’
She turns around and smiles when she sees me. She comes to me and we flew in each other arms. We roll over the beach in the sea and we laughed. When we were about to kiss each other the phone rings.
‘Mario,’ she says.
‘What?’
‘Can you pick the phone?’
‘Phone? What phone?’
Then I woke up because of the goddamn phone. I picked up the phone.
‘Hello?’ I said sleepy.
‘Mario, it’s Mac. Wake up. It’s time.’
‘Mac, you son of a… I just had such a beautiful dream.’
‘Yeah, yeah. Blah, blah, blah. Get ready in twenty minutes. I’ll meet you in the hotels restaurant.’
‘Whatever,’ I said.
‘See you in a bit.’
‘Oh, wait a minute, MacGyver?’
‘What?’
‘Did you call Pete yet and notified him about what happened last night?’
‘I tried to but he’s out of reach. Helen told me, he had to get out of the country fast, it had something to do with our connections in Russia and Asia.’
‘I see. I hope that doesn’t mean he’s got another assignment for us.’
‘Don’t worry, just get ready in twenty minutes.’
‘Yeah. Be right there.’
(A part of the MacGyver theme is heard here and fades away)
Twenty minutes and breakfast later, we went with Mac’s jeep to the police station where Mike and Marcus were waiting for us in police outfit. A sweater with Miami PD on, black pants, big solid black shoes. We wore the same clothes as the day before except that MacGyver and I changed shoes, Sam didn’t. He wore his black army-like shoes instead of his Nikes from the day before. I wore about the same shoes except I had grey stripes on them.
‘Morning,’ Sam said.
‘So what happens next?’ Marcus asked.
‘We’re going to the hospital, the question, Willis, about the explosion yesterday. Plus some more things,’ MacGyver answered.
‘Can we give you a ride?’ Mike asked.
‘Nah, just follow us with your car.’
‘Agreed.’
After a ten minute ride we arrived at the hospital. It was all a hospital is supposed to be. Ambulances driving in and out. Doctors and nurses running around.
‘Would you guys mind waiting in the car?’ Mac asked to Mike and Marcus.
‘Why?’ Marcus asked.
Mike rolls his eyes at Marcus.
‘Yeah we’ll wait in the car, in case something happens,’ he said.
MacGyvers nods and the three of us went inside the hospital.
‘Would you mind stopping asking stupid questions?’ Mike asked to Marcus.
‘Why? I just asked a fair question,’ Marcus responded.
‘Look, it’s their friend,’ Mike says, ‘they know how to handle him.’
‘You actually ever heard of this Phoenix Foundation?’
‘Not really. It’s a think tank in Los Angeles. That’s all I know. This man is probably a secret agent of some sort.’
‘Who? The man they’re visiting or MacGyver?’
‘MacGyver.’
‘What happens next when they come back?’
‘How the hell should I know, Marcus? We’ll let MacGyver and his friends do what they think it’s best and we do like we’re told. Protecting these guys.’
‘This is the last time I give myself up to do a crossover story,’ Marcus said.
‘What? What the f*ck are you talking about?’
‘Forget it.’
‘Then shut the f*ck up and have a donut,’ Mike said and tosses a white paper bag to Marcus.
‘Ooh, donuts. What do ya got?’
‘I don’t know, man. Look in the bag. Plain donuts, donuts with jelly, chocolate. Donuts with sugar on. You name it, it’s there, isn’t it?’
‘Yeah.’
‘Just leave some for me.’
Marcus takes a donut and gives the bag back to Mike.
‘Just another day with Mike Lowry,’ Marcus said and takes a bite of the donut.
MacGyver, Sam and I went to the reception of the hospital. A good looking young nurse was sitting behind the desk.
‘Excuse me,’ Mac said.
‘Yes, can I help you?’ the nurse asked friendly.
‘Did they brought a man named Willis in here last night? It has to do with the ship’s explosion yesterday.’
‘Yes, we have a patient by that name. He said he works for the Phoenix Foundation.’
‘Yep, that’s the man,’ I said.
‘Are you family of Mr. Willis?’ the nurse asked.
‘Well not exactly. We’re his friends and colleagues,’ Sam answered.
‘He’s in room 245, on the second floor, you can take the elevator if you want.’
‘Thank you,’ Mac said smiling.
With the elevator we went to room 245. It was all the way down the hall. A female doctor came out of his room. She saw us coming.
‘Friends or family?’ she asked.
‘Uh…, just friends,’ Mac answers. ‘How is he?’
‘He’s actually just fine. He can go home today.’
‘That’s great relieving news,’ I said.
‘Yeah, we kept him here for a night, to do some test which came out positive.’
‘In this case that’s good, right? Cause, usually those medical terms are different than the usual term, right?’ Sam asked a little confusing.
‘Yes,’ the doctor smiled. ‘Mr. Willis is just fine.’
‘Is everything ok with his papers and such?’ MacGyver asked.
‘He told me his company would take care of it.’
‘Ah, yes. The Phoenix Foundation. Can we go and ask him a few questions?’
‘Sure, he’s awake.’
MacGyver nods and we went into Willis’s room. There was nurse busy removing his IV.
‘MacGyver,’ he says.
‘Hey, Willis, how are you doing?’
‘Sam, Mario.’
‘Willis,’ I said.
Sam just nodded.
‘I’m doing just fine, MacGyver. I’m all right.’
‘You can always learn how to swim,’ Sam said jokingly.
‘Yeah, maybe.’
‘Willis, we came to ask you a few questions about what happened,’ MacGyver said.
‘What do you wanna know?’
‘Well, Pete, told us you were on the ship to finish your last assignment of the environmental friendly engine like we used to do with those race cars about ten years ago.’
‘Yeah, it took us almost a decade to develop an engine like that for cargo ships. Perhaps by the year 2007 we can develop an engine like that for airplanes. It could make the world a better and safer place.’
‘Well, that’s good then,’ I said.
‘Uh-uh,’ Mac said and took a seat next to Willis’s bed, when the nurse was finished with removing the IV.
‘That’ll take care of it,’ the nurse said tapping on Willis’s arm.
‘Thanks,’ Willis said.
‘You can leave this afternoon,’ the nurse said and left smilingly.
‘You need help this afternoon?’ Mac asked.
‘No, I think I can pull it off by myself,’ Willis said with a smile. ‘What else do you wanna know?’
‘Why did the ship blew up?’
‘I can’t give you an answer on that question, MacGyver. There was a lot of stuff going on there. I was just a part of it.’
‘A part of what?’ I asked.
‘I was a part of the crew. I was supposed to take care of the engine, fixing the last few things of it. Whatever else happened on the ship, I don’t know. Only the ships engine and a part of the shipment belonged to the Phoenix Foundation.’
‘Talking about the shipment,’ Mac said, ‘what did the Phoenix Foundation want with gold?’
‘Gold? How do you know it’s gold?’
‘We went scuba diving for it,’ Sam said. ‘Dad, got a little nosy.’
‘I figured that gold and the Phoenix Foundation, doesn’t mix,’ Mac said. ‘How come you were shipping gold to the Phoenix Foundation? What do they want from it?’
‘Is it actually meant for the Foundation?’ I asked again.
‘And if not, why was it stashed in those boxes with the Foundation’s logo on it?’ Sam asked.
‘That, I don’t know. The contents of those boxes were already stashed in them. I didn’t even know it was gold.’
‘You’re not much help, Willis,’ Mac said a little disappointed.
‘Sorry, to disappoint, you. I only did what Pete asked me. Finishing the assignment.’
‘But there had to be a reason why the gold was onboard the ship. Phoenix wouldn’t want gold without a good reason. Willis if you were on the ship, then you know where it went to, right?’
‘We went to the Middle-East, maybe it’s gold from a oil sheik. I never left the ship. I stayed on board the whole time.’
‘It’s an odd story, Willis,’ I said.
‘Gold imported from the Middle-East to the United States, it’s indeed a mystery,’ Mac responded on what I said. ‘Did you actually had the gold in your hands, Willis?’
‘Nah, they were already boxed in when they came on the ship.’
‘We had the gold in our hands and it seemed real because it was so heavy. It seemed like it was a golden bar of massive gold.’
‘Where’s the gold, now?’
‘The Von Leer brothers ran away with it,’ Sam said.
‘What?’
‘When we came above water again, last night, the Von Leer brothers were waiting for us. They snatched it right from under our noses,’ MacGyver explained.
‘But aren’t Nikolaus and Erich Von Leer supposed to be dead? Erich died six years ago and Nikolaus about three or four years ago.’
‘Yeah, they probably planned this from the beginning. Didn’t you notice anything while you were in the Middle-East? Nothing specific?’
‘No.’
‘Not even on the ship?’
‘Neither.’
‘The Von Leers are good this time,’ Mac said and stood up from his chair. He went to the window and looked outside. He was trying to think. Figuring it out. He rubbed with his hand over his face.
‘Are you ok, dad?’ Sam asked.
‘Yeah, I’m fine, it’s just… not helping. It bothers me. The situation with that gold. Pete can’t help us either because he’s out of the country.’
‘Maybe the Phoenix Foundation had a good reason to retain that gold,’ I said. ‘Or it has something to do with the military and their secret experiments or something.’
‘Could be but you know how I feel about all the secrecy and stuff. If I can’t sleep with it, it’s not right,’ MacGyver said.
‘Actually I wouldn’t know,’ Willis said. ‘Pete just send me on this assignment with the engine as he asked me to. I didn’t knew we were supposed to pick up something.’
‘Is it actually really important what Phoenix wanted with real gold?’ I asked to MacGyver.
‘Maybe not,’ he answered. ‘I think the most important thing now is that we get the gold back and give it back to it’s rightful owners, however they are.’
‘And that could be Phoenix, dad?’ Sam wondered.
‘Uh-uh.’
‘I guess we oughta do that, then,’ I said. ‘Getting the gold back.’
‘Maybe the Von Leers are out of town already. This is going to be like looking for a needle in haystack,’ Sam said.
‘Maybe not,’ MacGyver said. ‘We got the police on our side, with their computers we can probably do a little research.’
‘Yeah, probably,’ I said.
‘Willis, you’ve been a great help to us,’ Mac said and tapped Willis’s leg and rushed out of the room. Apparently he got an idea. We followed him after saying goodbye to Willis.
‘Later, Willis,’ Sam and I said at once.
‘I was a great help for once?’ Willis asked surprised. ‘Yeah, I was,’ he said with a big smile on his face. Pleased he putted his arms behind his head and sighed.
We came outside again, where Mike and Marcus were still waiting for us in the car. MacGyver went to Mike’s car while Sam and I already took place in the Jeep.
‘So how’s your friend?’ Mike asked.
‘He’s just fine. He can go home in the afternoon.’
‘That’s good,’ Mike said nodding.
‘Did you find out more about what happened?’ Marcus asked.
‘More or less. The why isn’t important anymore. Phoenix must have had his reasons for that gold. The best thing for us to do now, is to find out where the Von Leers are. Get the gold back to return it to their rightful owners. Can we use your department to do some research?’
‘Sure, just follow us back to the police station.’
(The Bad Boys theme song is heard here and then fades away)
We followed them back to the police station where Captain Howard was waiting for us. He called us in his office.
‘Did you guys already made any progress in your investigation?’ he asked. ‘Because you know another boat blew up.’
‘No we didn’t make any real progress yet,’ MacGyver said.
‘How come? What happened?’
‘We went scuba diving last night. We found real gold in the ship.’
‘What? Did you say real gold?’
‘From the Middle-East.’
‘Middle-Eastern gold? What the hell did you get yourself into?’
‘Probably in something the company is into.’
‘How are you going to solve this situation?’
‘The reasons why Phoenix want with the gold, we can’t find out.’
‘What about your boss… uh… Peter Thornton?’
‘He had to leave the country really fast this morning. He can’t help us anymore, neither will Willis?’
‘Willis?’
‘Our friend in the hospital,’ I said.
‘Is he alright?’
‘Yeah,’ Mac replies. ‘He’s alright. He can go home in the afternoon. But he needs to rest too.’
‘So what’ll you all do then? Wait a minute, where’s the gold now?’
‘Uh, sir, we…,’ Marcus tried to explain but couldn’t find the right words.
‘Marcus, shut up,’ Mike snapped at him.
‘Is there something I should know?’ Howard asked a little suspicious.
‘Well that depends on how you look upon the situation,’ Mike explained.
‘And what situation would that be?’
‘May I explain that?’ Mac wondered.
He received a go-ahead-look from Mike.
‘When we went below water, we founded the gold. So we went back up. Mike and Marcus got caught by the Von Leer brothers. They were waiting for us and afterwards I had to go back down with one of their henchmen.’
‘And?’
‘He knocked me out under water and I almost went out of air. I reached the surface in time to find, my son, Mario, Mike and Marcus tied in the boat with a bomb counting down. It was too late to disarm the bomb, so that caused the explosion last night.’
‘But what happened to the gold?’
‘They took it with them. That’s why that guy went with me below. To steal the gold.’
‘That was smart.’
‘If they didn’t ambush us, it probably didn’t went wrong. We were wondering if we could do a little research here. Perhaps we could use your computers to get in our programmes of the Phoenix Foundation.’
‘What are you trying to find out?’
‘Well since they’re here, they got to have a hideout here somewhere in Miami.’
‘If you can use our equipment for the case, then you can use it.’
‘You can use our offices to do it,’ Mike said.
‘They can?’ Marcus asked but Mike gave him an angry look for an answer. ‘Yes, they can,’ Marcus said.
‘Then lets get started for Christ sake,’ MacGyver said.
(The Bad Boys theme song is heard again and fades away when we see MacGyver)
MacGyver was sitting alone behind a computer and Sam and I were sitting together behind the computer opposite of MacGyver’s. Mike and Marcus were going through some files that MacGyver got send through by the Phoenix Foundation.
‘I just can’t believe this,’ MacGyver said with disbelief.
‘What is it, dad?’ Sam asked.
‘There’s absolutely nothing to be found more about them except what we already know. These files hasn’t been touched or changed since they both died.’
‘There ain’t nothing in these files either,’ Marcus said.
‘Nothing,’ Mike said.
‘What about the ship, dad?’
‘There’s not much information about the ship either. Not according to our files in the Phoenix Foundation.’
‘What about the files of the DXS?’ I asked.
‘DXS?’ Marcus asked.
‘Department of External Services,’ MacGyver explained. ‘I used to work there before Pete got promoted to Director of Field Operations.’
‘DFO,’ Mike joked.
‘Yeah. It’s actually a good idea, Mario. Asking the files of the DXS.’
MacGyver continued to search in the DXS file network as he did with the Phoenix Foundation file network. He opened a file with the deceased enemies of the DXS. He passed by the letter “M” and got to the name of Murdoc, but that wasn’t the man he was looking for. He scrolled down with the mouse. Somewhere below he searched for the “V” of Von Leer. Von Leer Erich, Von Leer Nikolaus there he founded it. He opened both of them. Another window opened. It became a split screen with left the information about Erich and right about Nikolaus. There was a picture of them, name, birthdates, occupations and etc.
‘Maybe I got something here,’ he said.
We all went to Mac’s computer.
‘What do you got, dad?’
‘Information.’
‘We know, dad. But what’s it saying?’
MacGyver’s face got that disappointed look again.
‘It’s just the same as before. Exactly what our files are saying. See here,’ he said while he pointed his finger to the last few lines.
‘Both Von Leers died in distant countries. Erich Von Leer died at Cherbourg and Nikolaus Von Leer in Turkey. There were they lastly seen. They both died in front of a Phoenix Operative Field Agent,’ Sam said.
‘And look at the date since their last update. Erich Von Leer’s file hasn’t been updated since 1989 and Nikolaus’s since 1991.’
‘So what do we know more, now?’ Mike asked.
‘Nothing, absolutely nothing,’ MacGyver said irritated. ‘It’s as if both Von Leers as well as the gold has just vanished into thin air. We’re tight spotted. They got us in a squeeze play.’
‘I guess, we’re missing something here,’ Sam said wisely.
‘Oh really, ya think?’ Mac said sarcastic. ‘Doesn’t anybody of you got a single clue about where they could be?’
Mike and Marcus just shook their heads.
‘Oh, come on, this is your town. Don’t you got any idea where they could be hiding?’
‘We’ve checked all the drug houses and possible hiding places in the area. Everything is clean,’ Mike said.
‘What about warehouses, fake names of companies, aliases? Don’t you got a harbour here, they probably are hiding in there.’
‘Well, we’ve checked everything. There is nothing about fake company names. No cover ups, no nothing.’
‘Maybe they’re just using that,’ MacGyver said.
‘What? How? What do you mean?’ Mike asked.
‘Usually fake companies uses fake names. There’s no company at all this time, they’re just using a real company name for the cover up. Isn’t there anything abandoned at the docks?’
‘Could be.’
‘Son of a --WATCH YOUR LANGUGE--!!’ I said knocking on the table. Everybody looked in my direction. ‘Excuse me, but I think a few people can help us.’
‘Who then?’ Sam asked.
‘Allie and Andrea of course. Maybe they’ve seen something last night. We haven’t seen them since we left the beach yesterday afternoon.’
‘Another good idea, Mario,’ MacGyver said.
‘I have my moments,’ I said proudly.
‘You got the address?’
‘No,’ I said a little to quickly.
‘Wait a minute,’ Mac said.
‘What?’
‘You know, I already found it odd, that she looked so familiar to me. I told this to Pete.’
‘So?’
MacGyver opened his own file from the Phoenix Foundation file network. The same window opened as with those of the Von Leers brothers.
‘There could be a possibility that she’s related to me. A cousin of mine.’
‘What?’ Sam expressed.
‘She seems so familiar to me. I haven’t seen my cousin since she was 7 or so. Look,’ he said pointing to the screen again. ‘Relatives. Parents: James & Ellen MacGyver. James died in a car crash on December 14th 1962 along with my grandmother, Celia Jackson. Ellen MacGyver passed away of a stroke while I was in Afghanistan in 1971. I was part of the Bombs Disposal Teams. Only other related family was my grandfather Harry Jackson who died of a very serious heart attack on April 30th 1990. The day I almost died. Newest family addition: Sean A. Malloy A.K.A. Sam. Now you see? In my file there’s a big question mark whether my cousin is still alive or not. The description matches the picture.’
‘Now you mention it,’ I said.
‘This is great, dad,’ Sam said.
‘Excuse me, don’t want to interrupt this little family reunion but can we carry on with this case?’ Mike asked.
‘We got the address by now,’ Marcus said.
‘That’s great! What are we waiting for? Lets go,’ I said.
Once again we took our cars and went to Allie’s place. When we arrived at her address, we noticed it was an apartment building. We went in the hallway below and I ringed the bell by pushing on the button near her name.
‘Ring ring!!’ I said but the bell sounded more like ding-dong.
MacGyver snickered and Sam had to laugh a little. The bell remained unanswered.
‘Oh, come on.’ I pushed the bell again.
‘Maybe she’s not at home,’ Sam said.
‘Hey, where’s that phone number, she wrote on your hand?’ MacGyver asked.
‘I washed it off when I went to the bathroom in that bar, last evening,’ I said.
‘Now that was clever,’ Marcus said.
‘Don’t you ever wash your hands after you went to the bathroom?’ I asked.
‘No, he doesn’t,’ Mike responded.
‘Something isn’t right here,’ MacGyver said.
‘Stop it, Mac, you’re scaring me,’ I said.
‘Alright, then,’ Mike said and took his gun.
He fired a few bullets destroying the lock of the door, he kicks it open.
‘On what floor does she live?’ I asked.
‘The twentieth floor,’ Marcus answered.
‘That’s a few floors too many to do with the stairs,’ I said.
‘That’s why we have elevators,’ Mike said.
MacGyver pushed the button of the elevator.
‘When then elevator is here it goes PING,’ Mac said laughing and he was right. The elevator did say PING and it said PING again when the doors closed. We went to the twentieth floor.
‘Here’s her apartment,’ Marcus said. ‘Number 7 of the twentieth floor.’
‘You know something,’ I said. ‘Let me knock on her door, I got nothing else to do.’
MacGyver just rolled his eyes.
‘Yeah, yeah, you do that,’ he said.
‘OK, you don’t need to yell, I’m not a dog, you know,’ I said.
‘Will you knock on the f*cking door?’ Mike asked.
I was ready to knock on the door but…
‘Hey, if she didn’t answer the bell, why should I bother to knock then?’
‘Let me do this,’ MacGyver said.
‘What are you going to do?’ Marcus asked.
‘I’m going to pick the lock with my knife

,’ MacGyver said.
‘Go ahead,’ Mike said.
MacGyver took his knife

and started to pick the lock. After a little picking he succeeded in opening the door. MacGyver looked at us when the door went open.
‘Tadaa,’ he said. ‘Opened it without destroying anything.’
Marcus grabbed his gun too and with Mike he went in to see if the place was secure. We followed them. We each started to search the place on our own ways. Mike and Marcus with their guns and MacGyver, Sam and I on our ways. It was a pretty big apartment. Yet again we found nothing.
‘Come on, you can’t be serious,’ I said.
We all came together in the bedroom.
‘What?’ MacGyver asked.
‘Nothing. Again nothing.’
‘Don’t worry, we’ll find them. No matter how we’ll find them.’
(Tense music takes over dangerously)
Then suddenly the phone rings which caught our attention. We looked at each other.
‘Who’ll answer it?’ Sam asked.
‘I’ll answer it,’ I said.
Slowly I walked up to the phone. I looked behind me. MacGyver was the only one who was following me. Sam, Marcus and Mike stayed behind. I looked at the display.
‘Unfamiliar phone number,’ I said.
‘I don’t know it either. 555-7667, doesn’t mean anything to me,’ MacGyver said.
A little shaky my hand went the phone.
‘Don’t waste too much time. Answer it before it stops ringing.’
‘Alright.’
I picked up the phone.
‘Hello?’
Nothing.
‘Hello?’
I looked at MacGyver.
‘What’s going on?’ he asked.
I raised my hand to shut him up and pressed on the speaker button so that everybody could hear what happened on the line.
‘Allie?’
(The music becomes tenser, fear is all over the place)
On the other side of the line I heard someone softly crying.
‘Mario, I…,’ she couldn’t say anything more. I heard her scream. MacGyver got an angry concentrated look in his eyes.
‘Stop it,’ she cried, then another voice took over. It belonged to Mammon.
‘Mario?’
‘What do you want?’
Mike, Marcus and Sam came closer to the phone to listen.
‘You, your friends got to stop this, man. This investigation should stop. We know that you’re looking for us. You can’t track us down. You won’t find us. If you care about these girls, you let us be and then you might see them back alive.’
‘How do we know for sure that you won’t hurt those girls?’
‘You’ll find out when they come look for you.’
‘Look, you son of a --WATCH YOUR LANGUGE--, if I get my hands on you…,’ before I could finish he asked for MacGyver.
‘MacGyver?’
‘Yeah?’
‘How good to hear your voice.’
‘Why?’
‘Just no reason.’
‘Uh-uh. What do you want from us?’
‘You and your friends got to back off or else people will get killed. We know you can’t handle it if innocent people get hurt.’
‘Whatever you do, don’t hurt those girls, ok?’
‘Only if you leave us alone.’
‘We can’t do that. You guys violated the law. You’ve stole property that doesn’t belong to you,’ Sam said.
‘Finders keepers.’
‘We’re the ones who founded it, you *bad word removed*. That belongs to us. To the Phoenix Foundation,’ I responded again.
‘Screw that,’ Mammon said.
‘F*ck you, man,’ I said. ‘They were stashed in those boxes of the Phoenix Foundation.’
‘Last time I say it. Leave us alone or people will get killed.’
‘We can’t do that,’ I said.
‘OK, then you don’t mind if I kill Allie,’ Mammon said and fired a bullet near the phone.
‘No, don’t!’
‘Next time I’ll shoot to kill and then they’re both dead.’
‘Both?’ Sam asked.
‘That’s right. I got Andrea too.’
‘If you lay one hand on her, I’ll…,’
‘Goodbye all. Thanks for the gold and the girls. They’re golden girls.’
Mammon had to laugh and hooked off the phone. (The music fades away here) Again we all shared a look at each other. My frustrations became too much for me to handle. Angrily I smashed the phone down.
‘Goddamn it, son of a goddamn --WATCH YOUR LANGUGE--,’ I swore and yanked the phone out of the wall and threw it against the farthest wall of the room where the phone broke into bits and pieces which shattered all over the room. I stormed outside the living room and went to the balcony after throwing the slide door shut behind me. With my fists I banged on the balcony hard.
‘It’s just his emotions, I’ll go talk to him,’ MacGyver said.
MacGyver also went to balcony to talk to me.
‘Hey, kid. Are you okay?’ he asked while laying a hand on my shoulder.
‘Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just so angry.’
‘Well, in a job like this you have your enemies.’
‘I know that, MacGyver.’
‘You don’t know what to do, huh?’
‘That’s what *bad word removed*es me off.’
‘We’ll get these guys. I got them before and we’ll succeed also this time.’
‘I hope so.’
‘Look, kid. It’s been great working with ya and you’re doing a great job at the Phoenix Foundation, but you got to keep it together. I need your help on this. Allie is my cousin, who I thought I’d never see again. I care about her too. We got to show these guys, what we’re made of. It’ll be fine. Help me out on this, ok?’
I nodded.
‘Good kid.’
‘What did you had in mind?’
‘How about going to the harbour, huh?’
‘Sounds like a good idea.’
‘It is. Let’s get back inside.’
So we went back inside the apartment. (Uplifting music comes up)
‘Everything alright now?’ Mike asked.
‘Yeah,’ I answered. ‘Sorry about that.’
‘That’s ok we all lose our patience once in a while,’ Sam said and I smiled at him. ‘So what’s the plan now, dad?’
‘What’d ya think? They got both girls and our only clue is the harbour. So I think we better go to the harbour.’
‘Good idea,’ Marcus said.
‘Let’s go,’ MacGyver said.
(The uplifting music reaches it's peak and we fade out here)
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
