I wonder that too...

This is one of the best, I like when Pete is out in the field with Mac and ad Murdoch who they thought was dead you have a cool episode.

Ah yes, the awesomeness of Murdoc

I love this guy. He's the best, most overblown villain out there and Michael DesBarres is clearly having a great deal of fun playing him. I love how suave he is over the radio in the truck, and how fast he goes to pieces once he realises that he's lost the upper hand. I love him pelting frantically around the place in a frock. I love the doomed intricacy of the traps he sets, and how he's always convinced that they're going to work. I love that he's handsome and cheerful and rock-and-roll (yes, I do know what MdB's day job is!) and at the same time completely unhinged in the way that us Brits seem to do so well

And then we have Mac and Pete meeting for the first time. Pete in charge and trying to get his head around the MacGyver state of mind, Mac realising that he's found some proper trouble this time and Jack as the hapless victim of the piece. I love how guilty Mac is when he's trying to explain to Jack what's happened to his cab. And his bed. It's exactly the same look you get from a 10 year old trying to explain how something got broken.

I voted excellent for this one. Seriously, what's not to like!

Actually my first and favorite episode of MacGyver.
I didn't watch the pilot first, like most people did. I watched this episode in a 3 p.m. rerun when I was in 3rd grade or something. It was AMAZING! Loved to see how Mac tried to defeat the bazookas with... What? Shoelaces, rusted wrench and a paperclip? And Pete didn't seem too happy about the idea, either. That is until it actually worked!
And Murdoc pretending to be a nurse to kill the two of them? How did he even find out where they were? I mean, it's not like Murdoc's there when Mac told Pete about Jack's cab.
Anyways, this episode sort of ''introduced'' me to the entire series. And MacGyver was the reason why I'd rush off home from school every Friday.

Welcome! Partners is one of my top 3 favorite episodes. I love the Pete/Mac episodes!!

I liked Partners but I wish the reason for Murdoc's scars were a bit more creative than him stupidly running into a building seconds before it was to be demolished. Instead, I would have had Murdoc kidnap Jack from the hospital and hold him hostage in the condemned building and dare MacGyver and Pete to come rescue him, which then leads to a fight to the death between Murdoc and Mac. Then something MacGyver does results in one of the charges being set off early, which causes the ceiling of a room to collapse on Murdoc, and then as Mac and Pete struggle to carry the helpless Jack out with only a minute to go before detonation, the crippled, burnt, and bleeding Murdoc yells to Macgyver something like "You'll pay for this MacGyver! You haven't heard the last from me! Do you hear me?" Then the explosives go off just as the three heroes get about 100 feet or so from the front door, and Murdoc lets out his first "MACGYVEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!", the sound of his death scream intertwined with the explosions and the rumble of the collapsing building.

Good episode where we get to se Murdoc for the first time, and when Pete meets MacGyver back in the day. I wonder if Murdoc dressed as a nurse was the inspiration for Heath Ledger's Joker.

If we're going to be that fussy, which is good, I may as well say that it's very convenient for the hair team that Mac's Season 2 hairstyle is the same as the one he had 7 years earlier, although not because he didn't change hairstyles.

I imagine that RDA was hoping they would decide that 7-years-earlier Mac would have a moustache. I do not get the appeal of moustaches. RDA does, clearly, and it is his right to do what he wants with his own facial hair.

He is so rock and roll. His ex-wife wrote a memoir about her life as a groupie, and Michael was promoting the 30th anniversary of the book on his Facebook page.

One of my all time favorite episodes - Mac having to explain things to Jack, Jack's reaction YOU CANNOT EXPLAIN BAZOOKAS! Pete pulling Mac into the Murdoc mess - has all my favorite characters, and is funny and suspenseful.

I can't decide whether it would actually be a good intro episode for someone to series though, because part of the joy is seeing the background after knowing who the characters are. But it's definitely one of my favorites to rewatch!

As you can probably guess from my signature, this is my fave episode. The introduction of Murdoc, Mac's face when he's explaining to Jack about what happened to his cab and then later the bed and that wig Think it was the first episode I properly remember watching too so it holds a special place in my heart anyway
