Just something I was wondering about. Perhaps way too early to discuss since there's no script yet. But I've seen Lost Treasure of Atlantis and Trail to Doomsday on Youtube both ending with MacGyverisms. How do you see the end of the upcoming movie?

Final fight, everybody dead, and Mac escaping out of a final trap with a grandscale MacGyverism just like Lost Treasure of Atlantis.

Or first an escape and than a final fight like in Bitter Harvest for instance.

Final fight only or an escape only.

Of course MacGyverisms can have multiple meanings. Escape, diversion, making something out of nothing to solve things or to fix things or to save the day.

My vote goes to the first two except I don't know in which order yet. All depending on the situation I guess. Taking care of the bad guys first and than getting the hell out of wherever Mac might end up.

I voted for MacGyverism + final fight

I voted Macgyverism only. I don't want to walk away with a fight scene in my head again. If this will be the last of MacGyver I want to remember a crafty act of his.

It really depends on how good the MacGyverism is. If it's something stupid, like using a tennis racket as a wrench, then I'd rather end with an exciting fight. If it's something genuinely clever and scientific (say, for example, like when he made the bombs out of PCP in "The Escape"), that could work as a good ending.

I'd rather see the movie end with Mac, the theme music and him raising his eyebrows like he did in the Master Card commercial. I don't want to see any head injuries (God only knows if he has titanium in his head). Houseboat rebuilt and him floating around the world in search of his next adventure. Or excepting Pete's job, and training Sam, to take his place. Either of those is how I would like to see the movie end. I think though I like the first scene better.

I thought we were talking about the climax of the film, though, not the epilogue (kind of like saying "Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom" ended with an exciting rope bridge sequence, as opposed to saying it ended with him being sprayed by an elephant while kissing Willie.) So, yeah, I'm sure it would end with something upbeat as you described, but the climax of the film should either be a good fight sequence or a MacGyverism or even a great chase sequence involving MacGyverisms.

Why not a typical sweet MacGyver goodbye?

That's fine for the last scene, but I think we're supposed to be discussing the film's climax, aren't we?

We are discussing how to END the movie I think.

I just don't want to see the poor guy with any more, burns, head injuries, back injuries, leg injuries. But something like the Master Card commercial, with a little comedy thrown it would be cute. I can handle a typical MacGyverisms chase. Just no left sided head injuries.

I voted for MacGyverism - I'd rather see Mac think his way out of a problem than have to use his fists: there are too many Hollywood movies nowadays that have the hero beating people up at the end when all they needed to do was use the little grey cells (as Hercule Poirot would say).

With ending I meant the finale, the climax of the film, not the last scene. In case of the last scene I want the music of the ending of The Stringer and The Lost Treasure of Atlantis.

But this was about the climax.

I voted MacGyverism + Final Fight. The final fight would be with Murdoc, where Mac finally gets him to the jail (or kills him)... MacGyverism would be something big!
