This weekend my seven year got to see the last episode ever of MacGyver (he hasn't seen all the eps...just most of them) and he decided to write his opinion for me to post it. happy.gif He even illustrated it...He drew everything very tiny, as usual, so I had a hard time getting clear images. He drew the Jeep and the little figure is MacGyver thinking about what to do with his SAK. biggrin.gif

And here's what he wrote (including his own unique spelling):

"MacGyver is neat because he allways gets out of trobol. He comes up with smart ideas. The end. I wish there were more MacGyver Dvd. And the finle end."

happy.gif wub.gif

So, I know that at least some of us have kids, and this got me wondering what the kids in your life think of MacGyver or have said about MacGyver, whether it's funny or serious or cute. wink.gif

Cool.

Yeah, its really nice.
I dont have any kids yet (cause I am nearly 18 - tomorrow btw biggrin.gif), but if I will have one I will - for sure - show them some eps of MacGyver. I am wondering what would they say about it wink.gif

I also imagined the school lesson in which we will be learning each lesson about 1 episode of MacGyver, then after whole season, there will be one test - about 20 questions... I am sure it will be pretty easier for fans like us smile.gif I know its only imagine, but it will be cool wink.gif

My thoughts exactly. Now, what you do is let your sister have a kid so your only responsibility to the kid is to teach him backwoods survival, introduce him to MacGyver (sister can't argue about that, he's a great role model), and buy him is first SAK!

Only 3.5 years left till I can introduce The Nephew to Mac. Can't wait. smile.gif

laugh.gif Oh now they're not THAT bad! Actually it's kind of funny that I do have a child because I get along better with teens. I never babysat when I was young and cringe when someone asks me to do something with the little kids at church. laugh.gif My child is evidence of God's sense of humor! If I'd never had one of my own, I think I would've been happy to be someone's Aunt Amy for the rest of my life...but I wouldn't trade my little "Bud" (yes, I call him that wink.gif ) for anything. wub.gif I love keeping my Pap's legacy alive with him, passing on my unnatural obsession with MacGyver laugh.gif , and especially passing along my faith.

That's cute, Amy!

Gotta agree with MacGod about the kid question, though. I knew long ago that I didn't want kids... I just don't have the patience for them, and I'm not good with little ones, either. I'll let others have them. There are enough people in the world already, anyway.

Hey AussieMacFan, though you may be a teen now, don't consider your childhood over. Stay young, especially at heart. Don't be in too big a hurry to grow up, take it from an "old" lady like me (Mac's age when he was in the last two movies)!! Besides, if you notice MacGyver is a lot of a kid at heart too.

Those pictures are great. Here's a little of how my mind works . . . when I saw the pictures of the Jeep, it reminded me of what some of the USPS Postal Carrier trucks look like now, which were the replacements for the old right-hand steering JEEPs, so see, it all comes full circle . . . it's all about the JEEP. biggrin.gif

Glad to hear it AussieMacFan! I suppose we all have to "grow up", but it's over-rated in my opinion. We can be responsible and still kids at heart. The trick is trying to blend the two together as you grow older. I refuse to grow up completely. I still like cartoons, playing games, and coloring...breaks up the seriousness of "real" life. I think getting out and playing keeps us young. heehee tongue.gif

I'm 17 and definitely still a kid at heart! wink.gif Like Mela said, growing up is overrated! I like being a kid. I'm not irresponsible like Jack Dalton but I like to just be a kid, you know? Look around you at most kids and teens today. It's almost embarrassing to me, as a teen, how other teenagers act. In my opinion, most just want to grow up too fast.

I don't believe in growing up. I think that the reason people "grow up" is that they get bored of the things they do. You know when you used to laugh at how your toy car moves on its own? Yeah, after a while, it gets repetitive and you're eager to see something new, something exciting. So you break up that toy car intentionally to know what's inside and what is making the car move on its own. You notice the mechanisms, those magic tubes that seem to make the car move and those gears that... help do something. As you explore more, you continue to try to satisfy your curiosity by poking around the mechanisms.

Until eventually you grow up and find out that those magic tubes are actually batteries that supply power to the engine to make the gears spin, therefore causing the car to move. See how boring it is when you know how something works? That's how people "grow up". It's when you find out that rainbows are not made by unicorns. It's when you find out that the TV isn't a magic box/portal leading to another world.

This results to you looking for more... you want to take that toy car research to full-scale. So you start researching blue prints, finding spare engines, disassembling broken cars. Even trying to make your own go-kart. My point is, nothing has changed. You're simply bored because you know how a toy car works now. You are still a kid.

TL;DR: Growing up sucks.

"If you're afraid of the answer, don't ask the question." -MacGyver
