The scene with Violet giving MacGyver the "hamster" is precious. Kids have a way of making you feel better when you're feeling sad. I lost my dad 3 years ago. One day one of the kiddos at church found out what my last name is and told me to tell "Homer" hi for him. I said that my dad passed away. The kiddo said that my older brother is the new Homer. That made me feel better and still makes me smile. Like someone said in another post MacGyver's interaction with children brings out another side of him.
