This extended version was aired in parts of Europe, but, as far as I know, never in the US. Because of this, the video clip is in Czech.. So you probably wont be able to understand what they say.. But you’ll still get the general idea of what’s going on.
Well, they've never showed it on Dutch tv unfortunately... I tried to watch it, but the computers here don't have speakers (or maybe they do, and they're switched off) Is it another voice doing the talking?
I do like the fact even Mac drinks coffee every now and then, and the smile he gives at the end of the clip.
Shoot! Now I have to start watching all episodes AGAIN to see if my DVD's are cut too! Now THAT's a bummer

They did on Belgian TV !!!!
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

I admit, Belgians are better in a LOT of things!! (I live about 100 meters from the Belgian border)
But uh don't you have sattelite? Maybe you can get our channels through the sattelite. If they're airing that is. Last time I knew it was aired it was on VT4 during the noon. Not in correct order though.

Nope, no satelite for Sheepy... Maybe that could make another new years's resolution though. (Along with quitting smoking and go to the gym more often)

I finally broke down and bought a new Season One, and I'm finding new delight in watching it and picking out the new scenes--some no more than a few frames here and there--of footage I've never seen before.
Next best thing to watching it all again for the first time!
Love my MacGyver

When I bought the seasons on DVD, I found that I didn't remember "The Lost Amadeus", it was like watching a new MacGyver episode for me!

I too noticed that - many times with "stock" footage spliced onto/into an episode, the quality of the film changes also - it becomes blurry and scratchy... or is it itchy and scratchy?
That which has been established will endure even with time and at a distance.
I can't tell you anything about what happens after the cameras go off, mostly because I'm usually unconscious by then.

Seems a bit odd! - I know you have to translate these shows, but I find it bizarre - You take away half the acting, half the persona, by removing and substituting the voice... It must be really odd for some people who have to watch it that way...

When SG1 started to be shown over here, it took this then stereotypical Trekkie a while to open up to the Universe of the Stargate - But thank God it got me in the end!!!

Sorry, to the clips posted at the top of this Thread; when I posted, didn't realise you'd moved on from the topic xx

Trumbo's world... which added salt to the wound with the worlds worst blue screen scene.
Oh, nooo, Rocky, I've seen much worse blue-screen work -- Doctor Who episodes from the 1970s immediately and painfully spring to mind.

Hmm- but I think those were on purpose
I refuse to believe that anybody could be that bad on purpose . . . it would undermine the ethical foundations of my life and devastate me utterly. Well, maybe not, but let me cling to some faint trace of idealism anyway, huh?
Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity . . .
And never attribute to stupidity what can be adequately explained by a really low special-effects budget.

No, really- I think Doctor Who's special effects were meant to be low budget... it was fashioned as a children's show to begin with- (and there were actually some complaints about the theme song being a bit too scary for kids- which I can understand because it was pretty freaky the first time I heard it- but now I just think it's cool.) Later on it gained a cult following as adult sci-fi fans got into it- but I think that lower budget special effects has always been part of it- and I think they keep it that way to work as a bit of a parody of other sci-fi shows, perhaps... Anyway, I like the special effects- they're fun. I like back when I was a kid when everything didn't have to be so believeable to be believeable.
I just re-watched this clip and it occurred to me that the whole opening scene seemed like a first edit rather than a finished product. So I wonder if the version sent to Europe was possible sent before they did the final production version. Or maybe they some how ended up sending a wrong version or something?

So true. Fortunately every program, they show here is subtitled and not dubbed. Only exception is movies for kids.
And back to topic, in Finland they showed the clipped version of the pilot.
