Has anyone ever seen what Murdoc's first name is, maybe in an early script draft or something?
I can't recall ever hearing it, but Michael Des Barres mentions it in an upcoming interview in Juice Magazine.

Well, he is an old glam rocker and very into the theatrical side of rock.
He wanted me to put up those pictures to promote his new band, which seems to be doing great at the moment.

Ummm... the tag line says he talks about how he got the role. How do you know he talks about Murdoc's first name? Did you read that somewhere else?

I've read the whole interview in advance.
It's very interesting, among other things he tells a funny story about how he got the role in "MacGyver" and about filming the episode "Partners".

Oh, and according to what Michael says in the interview, Murdoc's first name is Eddie.

Murdoc and MacGyver are the same, they don't need a real first name.

Wow- I can just see MacGyver addressing Murdoc as "Eddie"- that's hilarious!

(Maybe if it was more like Edward Nygma or Edward Hyde- that might sound a bit more sinister...)
I know Des Barres was just joking- but seriously, I don't think Murdoc really has a first name as such. What I mean to say is- I think Murdoc could quite well be a code name that he uses rather than his actual name. I mean, though he does expect most all his victims to be dead when he's done, why would he go around letting his real name get out?

I doubt Murdoc was ever given a first name.

The hero had one, briefly, but it was written off as an error. Then he didn't have one until the actor who played him thought one up.

Michael probably "gave" Murdoc that name as whimsy.

I guess we'll have to wait for the article for the circumstances.

Or Jakob, maybe, could dispense with the formalities and just tell us!!!

Or maybe Eddie Izzard.. seeing as how Murdoc liked dressing up and portrayed females a little TOO well.

Oh, he doesn't say anything more about the name. He just mentions it.

The next issue of Juice Magazine will be available on March 25th, and I'm pretty sure the interview will be in there, if nothing special happens. I'm not allowed to post anything from it before the magazine goes on sale, obviously. Just letting you know it's coming.

If Murdoc's first name was actually Eddie...that is sooooooooo weird. Every time I watch it now I will be thinking of one of my best friends, Edwin, who I have known since the 3rd grade and still call Eddie much to his dismay. Let's just say I don't think I would ever compare the two, unless of course the conversation was about dressing up as women.

OH! I know the best way to annoy Murdoc now! Have 'Eddie' engraved or embroidered on an object of your choice and send it to him for his birthday! Then leave the country... and move to Antarctica....

I think I am with MacNymph . I don't think Murdoc was ever given a first name. It would be that he is just called " Murdoc " . It really would be weird if Murdoc had a first name. It is so humorously funny , that Murdoc would be called anything other than Murdoc . Just so funny . He was not meant to have a first name.

Maybe it's a codename like every hitman has in HIT. But I just stick with the fact that Murdoc is his name.

Oh, you're right MGod. His name is a code, quite possibly an anagram such as he used it for in 'Cleo Rocks'
