QUOTE (Sheepy @ 19 April 2007 - 03:19 AM)

I filled out a form, some time ago, to be an extra, as I've been an extra before on local programmes.
I just got a phone call from the production team in which they asked about my hair colour (it's now caramel blonde) cause they needed a female who looked like one of the main characters. (probably for interrogation and all) but it didn't fit... AAAAAAAAAH!!!!! Such a bummer!!!!

But I was asked to be a "normal" extra this weekend.
YAY.

OMG Sheepy this is so exiting! And my hair is now carmel blond too! That sounds like so much fun to be an extra! Are you interested in acting, or is it just for fun? Oh let me know how it goes. Maybe you will get the bigger extra part next time. Have you ever been able to pick your face out on TV?

MG are you talking about the medical show ER or something entirely different?

You guys, I have been home all day with strep throat. I am missing a test and I am BORED. headbutt.gif ( I must really have a fever because I just spent 2 minutes looking for a doctor emoticon that I was sure existed but it's not there. I can see it in my mind- he had a clown nose and a circle doctor reflector thing on his forehead... sad.gif )

They called me back only 20 minutes later, they still wanted me for the somewhat extra-extra part.
They aren't sure they'll be shooting the scene tomorrow, but I should bring the right close anyway and some more clothes for just being an extra.!!

Yes, people did pick me out of an audience several times. (I was an extra at a concert -YES, THAT'S RIGHT: A CONCERT) I had to waltz and sing along and clap and man, did I got recognized....
But this is very exciting. Really curious about tomorrow...
Makes me needy for a cigarette though!! LOL

Something different, it's just a variation. Belgium's hospital series.

Hey Sheepy, that sounds like fun.

The training department that I work in has been teaching emergency responder course for the last two months. They do a big mock exercise that simulates a car accident or soem other major event. Today we did a big chemical explosion. I have been playing victim in the events, and I get to do all the really gory injury make up. I'm actually getting really good at it. I gave one guy a serious head injury with broken glass sticking out and everything. It was way cool and too much fun. I can't beleive i'm getting paid for this!!!

Ohhhh Sheepy don't tell me this! You were a flight attendant?! Now I'm really jealous of your exiting life! I have wanted to be a flight attendant since as long as I can remember...Please tell me you loved it. I want to hear all about it. I realize the job would be very demanding, but oh all the people you would meet and the places you would go! It sounds like a dream job. (OK don't shatter my illusions by writing it was hell in the sky or something! laugh.gif )

Yeah I have allergies too in addition to raging strep throat...it sucks. But at least in my quarantine today I got to complete my homework for the next two weeks! laugh.gif

Hahaha Devon, I can guarantee you I LOVED the job! Absolutely loved it!
I worked for a regional airline whuch has gone bankrupt after 9/11.
Though I never went outside Europe, except for Northern Africa and Asia (as in: no further than Turkey) it was brilliant.

I loved the turbulence, the people I've met, the interaction with the rest of the crew, the overnights hehehe.

I'm an "Aviaddict", I even love the smell of kerosine! biggrin.gif

OK you have officially lived my dreams...I'm serious. Every time I'm on a flight and they do that pre-flight demo of the life jackets, I think why isn't that me up there. I think I have just the soothing voice to put nervous travelers at ease. And I'm cheerful and pleasant and I just think I could do a really good job, while simultaneously living a life of high adventure. Now do flight attendants have to be certain height requirements? I think I heard somewhere you have to be tall? Do you have to wear perfect makeup all the time? (Please say yes). It just sounds so glamorous than boring life on the ground. I would love to sit in the galley and hang out with the other attendants. Then go out at night in a new city...sigh...

Have you ever thought about becoming a pilot? What is the training course for flight attendants?

That is funny you love the smell of kerosene! laugh.gif That's like me and gymnastics- I think the smell of crumbled chalk is the most beautiful smell in the world...

LOL! Yes I AM thinking of becoming a pilot. The only problem is... you know the expression "having a hole in your hand" as in: I can't save money, I have to spend it?
Well, my hand is practically transparent. huh.gif And getting your PPL or CPL
(private pilot's license / commercial pilot's license) is quite expensive.

The course to become a flight attendant isn't that hard. Well, it wasn't for me.
If you're a sociable person who can use common sense when in a stressful situation then your suitable for the job.

Perfect make up, I'll say yes just to please you, *GRIN*

Have I've ever had to deal with agressive, drunk, nasty passangers? YUP.
Tip: waer stiletto heals, hehehe. You can always threaten them with those. (okay, you're not allowed to, but I did and it worked for me)

Yes, I'm familiar with the "hole in hand" syndrome. Quite, I'm afraid. laugh.gif

Well I hope you can become a pilot someday. As to raising funds for training...do you ever play lottery? It's worth a shot- even a long one! laugh.gif

QUOTE (Devon636 @ 18 April 2007 - 06:51 PM)
Have you ever been able to pick your face out on TV?

I wasn’t an extra yet but I was seen in TV a few times already myself. One time I happened to walk down a street where they filmed a new game show. People were standing around in a circle and the moderator picked one for playing once in a time. One time he came directly towards me but then luckily picked the woman before me. But my face was clearly seen in TV, unfortunately I didn’t have a video recorder back then.

Then I also once was at an autograph session of an local actor and they said we should stand behind him so that they could get nice shootings. And the third time I was at an Open Air concert but you only can see me from behind there since of course they filmed the stage and not the audience. These two I taped.

Not too long ago I came back from lunch to work and saw a camera team take off. I immediately knew why they had been there without being told since my co-worker was working for a new party at that time. So I taped the news that evening and surely enough, there was an interview with him.

My mother once was interviewed for TV also when she was a teenager, have to track that down yet. But I got a tape from the archive when my uncle was in a game show in the early eighties. He’s long dead now but it was nice to see him again.

I’m also always there when they make a movie in my hometown, I like to see all the people in costume and what they do to the streets to make them look older. Not too long ago they did a movie about the 13th February of 1945 when the whole town was destroyed by air-raid and it was very impressing what they did there.

Yesterday was so cool!
The actors were so nice (the male is quit sexy even) and it was a warm sunny day.
I had to put on completely black clothing for my extra-extra part (first let me tell you I NEVER wear black)
But the scene was skipped... blowup.gif So they put me in a few other scenes (they double a lot of extra's ; apparantly the viewers don't notice it because they are paying attention to the main characters)
One scene I had to jump out of the way of a speeding motorbike. And in another scene I had to jump away from a slipping car. (I'm not just as an extra, I'm a stunt-extra LOL)
It was fun, it took a lot of waiting and some of the extra's kept complaining. Whiners.
It was very nice.

You know, there is a very funny show in Germany, actually for children but I think adults have much more fun seeing it and laughing about all the references to famous movies and such.

It is about Bernd the bread, Briegel the bush and Chili the sheep, and this is indeed a stunt sheep, she's making all the dangerous things. I just pictured her when I read this laugh.gif

But in these pics I don't have any make up on and I'm dressed like a man (they had asked me to do so for that certain scene they skipped later on...)
My head looks like I got hit by a bus or something! blink.gif

No, I'm not joking. We all have our really bad days. Well, I guess thThursday was one for me.

Ran into the male actor again while I was on a night out.

We drank something together, all women around Anna and me were green with envy. huh.gif
He's a normal man by the way. Handsome, but just like every other man.

Anna has dated a soap star who has started calling again and she's on cloud #9 but he's so not worth anybody's time. He's a moron. But she just likes him because he's "famous".

Now for all of you: which famous star would you like to date.
RDA is not an option. Too obvious.
So let's hear it!

QUOTE (Devon636 @ 4 April 2007 - 04:20 PM)

If anyone remembers an obscure show called "Punky Brewster" I will seriously die.

Hey Devon, I remember Punky Brewster! I only saw it a few times, but I remember thinking it was cute.

I do agree with the 80's being a simpler time. Then again, we were kids. Everything was simpler when you were a kid. smile.gif

Do not pity the dead. Pity the living, and above all, those who live without love. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

You don't eat things like that, you call pest control! Kate in The Gauntlet

One of my favouritest movies ever is the old thing from 1938 "Bringing Up, Baby" - the one with Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and the leopard http://imdb.com/title/tt0029947/

It's just too funny and I watch it every time it is in TV. Despite I'm already able to speak the dialogues by myself laugh.gif

Funny pics with Stargate actionfigures at http://dieastra.livejournal.com/

I've never seen this one, but I know of the title and that it's a really famous one. Anything with Cary Grant is good! My fave old movie is "Breakfast at Tiffany's". I think I've seen it a thousand times... tongue.gif

My fave movies in no particular order...
"Legends of the Fall"
"Garden State"
"Lord of the Rings"
"King Arthur"
"What the Bleep Do We know?"
"House of Sand and Fog"
"Freddy got Fingered"
"Borat"
"Million Dollar Baby"
and "The Believer"
Also anything and everything by Jean-Luc Goddard.

Anyone like any of these, or care to share your own?

Well the movies worth mentioning in no specific order.

King Kong
The Fast and The Furious I-III
Casino Royale
Predator (Heck, almost everything with Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Superman Returns
Blood Diamonds
Rocky I-VI (Heck, almost everything with Sylvester Stallone)
Bad Boys I-II

Those are pretty recent films but in short, I actually like all kind of movies. If you ever see my dvd collection you'll notice it's mainly action/adventure. Not many comedies. However Ben Stiller and Will Ferrel cracks me up in almost all their films. The only comedies I got are: The Breakfast Club, Road Trip and Sixteen Candles. John Hughes has pretty good films about coming of age, learning to deal with yourself. Really something for MacGyver.

To my own opinion, I like dark and violent films. Films like Ricochet, Sin City or Hostel, they're sexy, brutal and still fun. So I'm no stranger to look at torture scenes or bloody and gory scenes.
That's the way I like them. Dark, violent and if possible even a bit erotic. It doesn't always have to be like that I enjoy the Indy films very much and others a like. But there are several recipe's in movies I like. One time I think that action and comedy are the best hybrids around. Nothing better than a rousing action scene with fast cars crashing and flying throught the air followed by hilarious jokes. The next time I might say that horror and comedy are the best hybrids around. Lately I'm beginning to like more and more the talkative films like Crash and The Breakfast Club is also one of those. But if there's one genre I really hate it's the romantic comedy genre. It disgusts me. puke.gif Though there are exceptions like Just Like Heaven.

This is my dvd collection!
