Has the different looks of the phoenix in the Phoenix Foundation Logo ever been addressed / explained?

In some it looks like a phoenix, with a beak, while in others the area where the beak was is more rounded, making the body of the phoenix resemble a modern day drone.

I don't believe it has no.

I haven't verified this yet, but I'm thinking that the version with the visible beak is the earlier season 2 version and the later "drone like" version is season 3 onwards and appeared as part of the image makeover which occurred in season 3 when they moved to Vancouver for filming.

The earlier version always appears to be red and (I think) seen mostly in season 2, although it is still seen on the ID cards.

Other than that I don't know why it changed. I was about to suggest it may have been a printing error which saw the area between the beak and bird filled with ink but I just noticed that the whole bird is different so it looks like a deliberate design change.

I much prefer the version with the beak.

The 'original' Phoenix 'bird' looks much like a seagull in flight.

I'm not sure which episode this is from, but the red beam is from the Bridge Studios so at least 3rd season and shows that they started off using the same bird as the red sign.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's not a printing error by whoever created the replica. It seems that the logo we see in the show has a beak, but the logo we see on tee-shirts etc doesn't.

I find the blue version very well, except there is not the inscription "Foundation Phoenix" [COLOR=purple]

Just got done watching "Mountain of Youth" (season 7) and the logo on the tracking device MacGyver uses after he parachutes in has the logo with the beak.

Yeah, I think you'd have a hard time finding a logo within the show which doesn't have the beak.

I'm becoming more convinced by the day that the "drone" is an error by the tee shirt designer.
