Which season is your favorite opening "title" sequence.. and why?

I would have to say season 4's opening sequence. The sound on it (on my DVDs, anyway) is very sharp and clear and the images look good--the color is pretty vibrant. I don't think the music was quite right yet on the first two seasons, and the third season's opening sequence was way too short! I guess they needed to add footage for newer seasons, but I didn't like how they replaced older Mac episodes with newer footage of him doing the same thing (frightened of the snake, eating ice cream, etc). However, we do get to see him in a tank top for the later season opening sequences!

Oh, I don't know. I don't really have a favorite. All 7 seasons' openings are good. Of course, the 1st. season always reminds me of my memories of first seeing the show when it first aired in the 80s- because that's the "original" opening. But then it's cool to see the added scenes as the seasons progress- and we move from MacGyver grabbing a breather beside a cart, to stopping with a rope in the background, and stopping by a brick wall at the end.
And then there's some scenes from actual episodes- like the scene with the snake in "Murderers' Sky" and the ice cream cone from "Thief of Budapest" that they decided to shoot again and make it look more modern, I guess. In any case, in any season, MacGyver has one of the best opening theme songs ever!

Oh, I'd have to agree with that! I love the theme song! It just makes you want to dive into the action immediately and it gets you involved.

Don't you get a sore butt from sitting on that fence so much?

No, I guess I just try to be all things to all people...and I really do enjoy all the MacGyver openings- no real preference...

I enjoy all season's openings also. Like them all, but for different reasons. Can't say I really love one more than the other.

While I'm aware the opening credits changed, evolved, got up dated as the years went by, I don't think it would ever occur to me to go back and compare them and try and figure out which I liked the best.

Is the music actually different? If it is.. It isn’t a dramatic difference is it?

I don't exactly have a favourite.
I like certain parts, like the one's he blows out a big gasp of breath and when the snake comes popping out of the bag. Unfortunately they changed those by putting in more recent shots of RD.

And I like the way the music and the scene come together when Mac lands on top of the elevator cabin (Cease Fire)

Well I'll go with S5. Because from there on the theme song was set for the rest of the series.
It's very similar to the fourth except for the moment of the explosion title. In the fifth season there's alot more fire power to it. More energy.

Jumping to grab the pole and then it goes over nicely when he lands on top of the gondola. I knew what you mean. This was preceded by Karin Graff and him jumping of the Ghost Ship.

Some reshot footage are better and cooler. Like the standing against the door and running through the fence.
However with the snake thing. I think I like the footage of Murderers Sky better than the reshot one, which to me appears like it's been shot during the filming of Black Rhino.

Also the last shot of the fifth season is very cool. Finally they reshot him blowing out air next to the wood and I think somewhere you could also see a rope.

Well it sounds way different than the first ones. Not dramatic but more adventreous.

Season 4. Everybody has already explained the whys so I don't feel the need to repeat what was said.
