False -- I can't count the one that used to live in the pantry as a pet, since it was wild, or the one that belonged to the kid next door.

The next person has had someone try to freak them out with a supposedly "scary" pet (such as a tarantula or snake) and fail.

The kid next door was really cross when I told him his tarantula was "cute" . . .
