I know I'm not the only one who pays attention to the MacGyver themesong!! So I'm sure most of you have noticed that in some episodes the theme song sounds way different than the normal. For instance in the 3rd season opener (lost love part 1) the themesong is completely different!!! So if anyone else knows of any variations please do tell!!!

Yes indeed Lost Love part 1 sounds way different than on the dvd. I remember it from when it was aired.
Other variations of theme are unknown I think. Each theme from each season sound different, except for the last three seasons.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

I think that these are all the variatons: Season 1 Theme Season 2 Theme Season 3 Theme (episode Lost Love) Season 3 Theme (other episodes) Season 4 Theme (episode The Secret of Parker House) Season 4 Theme (episode Blood Brothers) Season 4 Theme (other episodes) Season 5 Theme Season 6 Theme Season 7 Theme (a very little different from season 6 theme)
and on the DVD in first episodes of first season the theme starts normally and in the other episodes of first season the theme starts like it was bad taped (if you know what I think)

I have just watched The season four opener, (secret of the Parker house) and the Theme to it is really different! Same with the couple of episodes past that, but they are even more dramatically different! If anybody could find them on the net please tell me!!

Using Windows Movie Maker, I guess. You just take the first minute and ten seconds of the theme and place it under audio. But I'm not sure about this.

If you have the right software you can rip the audio from the dvd.
You can record it on your stereo (tape cassette, MP3 recorder)
you can plug the sound output from the DVD into the mic jack on your computer and record it that way. Or if you have video capture cards in your computer just capture the sound via the video editing software.
If you have a mobile phone with recording functions, could use that as well.
just think of anything you have which can record sound.. then look for way to hook it up with the DVD player.
As a very last resort you could even hold a tape/mp3/cd recorder in front of the speaker.
Or I know a guy who can do it for you for $30/hour

First you must copy whole episode to your hard drive, you can use DVD Decrypter for it. Then you will have VOB file with video and audio. Then use for example DGIndex to extract audio from it. Now you will have AC3 audio file with whole audio from episode. Then use any converter to convert it to WAV. The last step would be to open this WAV in any sound editor (I am using Sound Forge) and cut everything except the theme song. Then save it as WAV. And then you can encode it to MP3 for smaller size
