I have been to both a gentleman's club and to a male dance review, and I can say with perfect honesty that the men porported themselves with far more dignity, discretion, and decorum than the women, who were absolutely going wild stuffing dollar bills down these poor men's clouts.
Any woman who says that only men are sexist, is a hypocrite... and those words will never cross my lips, I promise you, Rocky.

Speaking of giving Rocky a break . . .

Why, shucks, Rocky, don’t you realise we really love you for your mind? And Mac, too, of course.
Seriously, that’s a really good question. Fifteen or twenty years ago, I might have given you a self-righteous and hypocritical answer – and fifteen or twenty years ago, most guys from whom I heard that kind of comment would have deserved most if not all of the condemnation handed out to them. The world I see around me is very different from the one I was born into, so much so that it’s easy to forget how much it has changed. Memory being what it is, you’re inevitably going to get clobbered by people who are still reacting to the way they were treated twenty years ago. Some veterans of the Equality Wars still flinch at an innocent remark the way a military veteran flinches when a car backfires.
The presence of a sense of humour makes a big difference – but try to imagine what it was like to be sexually pressured, and then told “Hey, baby! I was just kidding! Can’t you b*****s take a joke?” if one actually objected to, for example, blatant uninvited groping. I find the current world much easier to deal with: the kind of people I hang out with will take ‘no’ for an answer, have reasonably intact senses of humour, and recognise flirtation as an amusing social pastime. This leaves me the freedom to accept flirtation as a compliment instead of regarding it as a threat.
So all I can do is second Loth’s promise not to insist that sexist behaviour is only on one side. Nor will I accuse you of sexist behaviour, unless I think you’re actually displaying some.
'Beth
