Thanks. First day back wasn't too bad. I'm supposed to be on light duty and not doing lots of walking so of course we have a fire drill and I have to leave the building and go across the parking lot.

I also got my annual performance review, not bad and a major new assignment as well.

And to think, right now I could be sitting on an Oregon beach in front of a bonfire, sipping a nice glass of my favorite Merlot and contemplating plot lines for my fanfic...........

Oh well, if I pull off this assignment, I'm gonna look like WonderWoman.

Goes off to find magic lasso in among the climbing gear..................

You know... friendship is so overrated. I'm sick and tired o giving my all and get nothing in return.

It really cheered me up. I got "ditched" by my best friend yesterday.
Since 4 months she's got a boyfriend and she moved in with him a month ago and obviously she doesn't have room in her life for me anymore.

I understand that friendships get less close when a partner gets involved, but I've helped her move house 4 times. I've helped her out financial predicaments by lending her (quite a lot of) money. I drove her everywhere as she doesn;t have a driver's licence. I picked her up everytime she was down (believe me, I've picked her up a lot of times!)
And now this.

Thing is: it happened to me several times before and somehow people always take advantage of me. I'm a giver. I can't help it. I just won't learn...

But your sweet words helped a lot. And the thought of yesterday evening...

A man took his Rottweiler to the vet and said to him, "My dogs cross-eyed. Is there anything you can do for it?"

"Well," said the vet "let's have a look at him" The vet picks the dog up by the ears and has a good look at its eyes.

Dogs will burrow to the bottom of the trash can and drink out of the toilet, then come lick you on the face.


Cats will delicately flick garbage out of the can with their paws, dip their paw into the toilet and lick it, take a full bath, then come and lick you in the face.


Sheepy, glad you are feeling better. It sucks when a friend uses you and takes you for granted when she gets a man in her life. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. And when the man dumps her, who's she gonna call to help her move and pick up her life? Also been there, done that..........In the mean time live your life, enjoy yourself, and maybe you'll make a new friend along the way. And as long as Beth is buying, I'll join you on that tropical island.
