| QUOTE (Rockatteer @ 26 January 2008 - 03:26 AM) | I really don't know why anyone would use IE. |
I also use Firefox for a very long time now, my brother recommended it for lesser virus attacks and such, and it also seems to have an integrated popup-blocker, right?
But still there are occasions where I have to switch to IE. Sometimes my Firefox can't handle websites where a lot of of stuff happens, and then just shuts itself down. Very annoying if you just were typing a post at Gateworld and all is lost.
Also, when I want to watch online videos, it loads and loads and never finishes. Or when I wanted to upload an image at badgeplanet, I clicked onto "upload" but never could finish the transaction and wondered if I was too dense to see the right button. Recently I even have problems with Photobucket, when I have uploaded a picture and then want to copy the [IMG] link - my browser closes down.
So, I hate to say it, but IE is more stable for these things. Do you think I could fix it by upgrading to a newer Firefox version? And I seem to need a new flash player, yes?
Since as I'm not exactly sure what I do have to install for using chat rooms, I use IE for that also. Works for me.

um... you may want to read my post again after the caffeine has kicked in. | QUOTE (Astra) | | So, I hate to say it, but IE is more stable for these things. Do you think I could fix it by upgrading to a newer Firefox version? And I seem to need a new flash player, yes? |
I've been using Firefox ever since it first came out, and I've never had any compatibility issues, even though I often have multiple tabs running with various database and web administration applications, forums, downloads, uploads and even the occasional game for the kids. Firefox does it it with not problem.
If your having issues with certain tasks or sites, its probably more due to your settings and options, rather than Firefox not being able to handle the site.
I would suggest you upgrade to the latest version though. They made quite a few changes when they jumped from version 1. whatever up to version 2.0 and the latest update is now 2.0.0.11.
