I heard that Mythbusters did the 'stop-an-acid-leak-with-chocolate' but I didn't actually see that ep.

well RDA said in an interview that for the MacGyverism to actually work you would need a truck load of chocolate.

Another case of "based on fact, but wildly exaggerated for entertainment purposes."

I think the Mythbusters also dealt with making a magnet the way MacGyver did in Nightmares, but I can't be sure. I love that show, but I still haven't seen all seasons of it.

oh oh oh i meant to share this at christmas time it's a little out of date but still makes me laugh^^

every tuesday i help out at my local school^^ it's great fun! i work with year 3 (6-7 year olds). it was the week before christmas and the kids were very excited. being so young oh course santa still exists and they can't wait for him to bring the presents^^ one of the table of children were discussing the letters they sent to santa and all the things they wanted, when one little boy (a very bright kid can work out the most difficult of sciences, maths and other problems he is faced with, he works at an elivated level (that of the year or two above) and is very mature for his age, oh and he also gets into trouble VERY easily) piped up saying "don't be so stupid santa doesn't bring the toys!!" silence hit the room and all the kids stared at him opened mouthed. and i was stanging there think 'oh great! how am i going to defuse this situation with santas integrity still in tact'. well this boy said to every one "think about it! santa CAN'T get to everyones house in one night!! even if he was magic, he couldn't posible manage it!!" and i'm think oh great here it come... he's going to tell a room full of 6 year olds that it's the parents... the magic of christmas is going to be spoilt for all of them' He continues... "it's not santa who puts the presents under the trees... its THE ELVES!!! the elves come at night and give the presents so santa doesn't have to! there are so many elves working in santas work shop that they can easily make it all over the wold with all the presents!!" phew crisis adverted... hahahaha he's such a bright kid i never expect that! i was such in a few seconds i was going to have a room of 30 six year olds crying their eyes out.... that goodness for childrens innocents^^

I totally agree with you there MacsChick! Though sci-fi is a very popular genre these days, I think RD has contributed a GREAT amount to SG-1's popularity!
