They also had air force instead of Air Force, Sara instead of Sarah, courts martial instead of court martial...
If you lived in Minnesota, you'd know the correct use and spelling. The writers of Stargate are Canadian, the producers are mainly from California... yadda yadda.
You have to realize they've had so many errors; I cringe... especially at the military ones... then they finally got an advisor, which was sometimes ignored. I watched up until season 9, where they must have lost thier advisor. The mistakes were BAD!
Oh well... that's what I get from being in a military family. I nitpick...
I love Minnesota. It's cold, but really beautiful. And great fishing... not that I caught anything, but that doesn't matter... It's the act of fishing that counts. (Gee, that sounds familiar...)

Nope. The song that Jack (wasn't) singing when he asked Sam to go fishing was: "Land of sky-blue waters. Loofas. Ya sure, you betcha, snookums. Mosquitoes..."
It's really a song... I'd sing it to you, but my voice... well, better not.

, Sara instead of Sarah,
Sara is spelt both ways, Sarah from the biblical form, much like Katherine/Catherine/Kathrine or Cathleen/Kathleen.
Yeah, but the original writers had her name as Sarah, the prop folks screwed it up. They screwed up a lot in that show. But some of the props were way too funny. Like when an old prop or humming the theme song from MacGyver showed up on the set of SG-1. Practical jokers, the lot of them...
Sara (here anyway) is a updated, no-so-old-fashioned way to spell it. Kids don't want to get their a**es kicked for having a not-so-cool name... my husband can attest to that. His name is so old fashioned, and he got into many fights over it.
Anyway, when you write fan fiction, you want to as close to accurate as you can be... and since I beta, I'm a bit (anal?) of facts and the intention of the original writers. That's all...

SO true. I have ample opportunity to fish here, living between the ocean and a river waterway, but all I've caught is catfish. And in a brackish river, that's really discusting. Fresh water catfish taste much better... But anyway...
What were we talking about?

The original writers also had it as "O'Neil" not "O'Neill" too. how would friends know if you spelt your name Sara or Sarah, unless you wrote to them and they corrected you? Much like the Cathy/Kathy/Kate/Kay that Kathleen/Cathleen/Katherine/Kathrine/C..etc is? Sara was Daniel's girlfriend, Sarah Jack's wife
or is it the opposite? lol Sara is spelt correctly either way, and the spelling is far different from having an odd name like "Squirrel" ( yes I had a client with a child named that years ago, "Squirrel" must be about 18 by now )

It was the opposite... I think by S4, it became canon for fan fiction writers to spell Jack's ex-wife's name Sara as not to confuse it with Sarah/Osirus. And my name, simple as it may be is often misspelled... I have no problem corrected them.
It also became canon in S7 to have Jack's name as John instead of Jonathon because of a prop screw-up with the ID in "Fragile Balance".
I talk from a writer and editor point of view, and that's why I'm so picky. Folks ask (or hire) me to correct and authenticate, as well as correct spelling. If it was in normal conversation, name spellings are a moot point. But if you edit, those things become important to the accuracy to the piece.
I don't write anymore due to a brain tumor that's effected my creative thinking processes as well as my memory, but still have the brain power to beta fan fiction or edit articles. :-)

You really got a brain tumor? Or are you just saying that because you've got writerblocks?
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.
I've got a simple name to spell too. Yet i have seen "Jone" or "Joann" plenty of times for "JOAN". Guess these people have never heard of "Joan Crawford" or "Joan Jett" or the TV show "Joan of Arcadia"

Yeah, afraid so. That's why I'm home instead of working... I'm hemiplegic; paralyzed on the right side from face to foot, wheelchair bound.
And yes, major writers block. I have a six unfinished stories... dang it! I've been seriously stuck for about four years.

Joan Jett... that brings back memories... good concert!

It already has been Sara for Jack's wife in the first season. You can see it in the episode 007 "Cold Lazarus" when the duplicate O'Neill is shifting though the things in his locker. Next to a picture of Charlie you can see a letter, and it clearly has "Sara" as the sender.

I saw that, but old-time fanfic writers still use the Sarah... just personal preference, I think. Me, I used Sara after S4. That was a prop screwup too.
I wish I could so attentive when it comes to MacGyver episodes. It's fun pointing out mistakes... But my DVDs are packed away until we move, and I'm going through "MacGyver" withdrawals. Three more weeks...
Off to but a new computer desk...

Moving, ugh.
No MacGyver, double ugh.
Hope the move goes well. When I first moved to Utah, I moved 3 times in 6 weeks. I've been in the same house for 9 years now.
Have fun with the computer desk. I get to put together a huge storage unit tomorrow, but I will finally have space for all my art supplies and it will all be organized. And then maybe my husband will stop grumbling about it.

The stuff is already here, I just find a different way to use it. MacGyver
Hi there: Yeah, I am still reading the stories. I like to print them out, so I can read them again, and again. I noticed , just now, tho. The story called " Dark Visions " Whatever happened to that ? I mean, I see parts one , two and three. Then suddenly it jumps to part seven. Was that just to catch ones attention ??? Well, . . . hehe . You got MY attention. Just so you know. . . yes, I AM reading your stories. They are just super excellent. And I don't think I have any of that talent that you ( all the writers , on this site ) have . I mean that, sincerely. I am not the talented one to write stories. And I have tried. But I am too ashamed to write something and then submit it . That is how wonderful I think all the writers here are. I thank you for allowing me to see such wonderful ( no scratch that. I seem to be using the word " wonderful " too much . How about . . . EXCELLENT . . . Yeah, that one works . ) Excellent effort that goes into the stories. Sincerely, Kate Mackay
