Well, I finally got a job!

AlliedBarton Security hired me as an officer for a new account they just picked up, at a new hub for DHL (it's a courier outfit, like FedEx). I wanted a supervisor job, but I guess they decided I wasn't qualified enough.

Don't know how much they'll pay me yet, but it has to be at least $11-12/hour, and it's second shift (3 PM to 11 PM). Not bad on the hours. Plus, the job is reasonably close to home. As I told them in the interview, I'm about ready to settle down with a good company, and stay for at least a few years.
Now, of course, I just got a call from Medtronic today (they're a medical device company headquartered here in MSP) and they want to interview me, too!! They're a GREAT company... they consistently make the lists of "Best Companies to Work For" in the U.S. However, if I remember right, the job they're offering is night shift. Uggh... at 30, I don't think I can handle nights anymore.

When I was in my 20's, it was another matter. I might interview, but if the job is nights, I'll pass.
