Déjà vu?

Okay, those shoes and socks are really wrong in the first picture but those were the 80's I guess. Seems like fourth season. Something wrong with the Jeep? This a behind the scenes shot of The Outsiders maybe while doing some maintenance on the Jeep?

Interesting how both Mac and RDA are having trouble fixing cars.

It's an old ad in GQ magazine from 1987 advertising the clothes I think. Rugged casual wear or something.

Life imitating art. I wonder if he's thinking to himself in that second photo - "I feel like I've done this before..."

I love the socks. The shoes on the other hand . . . not what I think of when I think of .

It's weird that the ad is for a clothing range yet they let him wear his own socks in it.*

* RDA has stated in interviews that he always wears white socks. And you'll notice that whenever we see a foot shot in MacGyver that he's wearing white socks. - I guess they may have concluded from that, that white socks are a "MacGyver thing" so left it in?

At first glance I thought it was an 80s Andre Agassi in that first image. He did alot of advert shots like that and his hair/toupee (at the time) was not far off from the RDA/Mac do.

He's been doing a lot of conventions lately. In august he was at two conventions. One in Canada and the other was in Georgia (which I almost went to).

Kate Ritter (who runs the RDAnderson.com website) spent some time with him at the end of August, and posted THIS interview called A Life Well Lived. It's a nice read for any RDA fan.

The "water retention" thing is old. That's his Twitter bio and he hasn't changed it in a good long while. He does update upon occasion.

I actually quite like the style in that first picture. It feels very home handyman out in the workshop building something, Bob Villa-ish to me. Like the picture below.



I guess it was the style back then, but I grew up in that era so the style's very comfortable to me and I still like it.

Agreed - jeans and a shirt like that are what I default to wearing too.

Not so much the white socks and funky shoes though...

Ditto! Give me jeans and a T-shirt or favorite polo and I'm happy. I honestly find no appeal to the styles today.

LOL! I remember being a big wearer of flannel back in the late 90's.

I don't wear flannel anymore. XD It's either t-shirts, or big, cozy sweaters. Well, when I'm not at work. At work I have to dress it up a little bit. lol

I dig the socks... and think those shoes are actually slippers. My Dad has a pair just like those, I think. You normally didn't wear them outside though.

I'm like you Yope, I don't really dig the styles these days either. You can very easily dress up a t-shirt and jeans, and still look nice.

Funny thing is that anytime I wear my leather jacket... I always get compliments from strangers that I smell good. XD

The shoes are Boat Shoes, also known as deck shoes.

I don't think they really fit with the rest of his clothes. They are generally more of a dress shoe than a casual outdoor shoe.

While not everyone is hot on the socks RDA is wearing in the first photo I think they're great. They look like "Slouch Socks" which were made and are still made for men and women. I owned a pair or two back in the late 80s / early 90s. I just searched eBay and found them, so I may buy some more.

I had to look up what Slouch Socks were and found this picture. Which reminds me of a scene from one of the MacGyver episodes. I'm thinking maybe Blowout when we get a close up of his feet on the pressure pad?

But anyway, talk about a case of Déjà vu! I'm sure I've seen MacGyver wearing these socks.
