Here's what I have...

From the '80s:

Only MacGyver--I was really too young during that decade to get into much else. wink.gif

From the 90s-2000s:

Stargate SG-1--seasons 1 and 2 for now, but I'm planning on going up to season 8 (9 and 10 are a waste of time without RDA)

Seinfeld seasons 1-8 (I will have 9 when it comes out soon)

From the 90s-2000s (on my list to own eventually):

Frasier

Northern Exposure

Curb Your Enthusiasm

MST3K

Mythbusters

Some Simpsons (jeez--could you imagine how long it would take and how much it would cost to own ALL of them? blink.gif )

Futurama

Perhaps some Law & Order, but I'm not sure

Not many series.

MacGyver Season 1-4.
Magnum PI Season 1-3. (4 and 5 are bit too expensive)
The first season of The Simpsons.
And the series final of Xena and an imported one with the first three episodes of the second season.

Don't be embarrased... I own WAY TOO MANY! You're collection isn't measly... it's normal! biggrin.gif

I loathe watching TV... commercials make my skin crawl. And the shows that I want to watch are invariably preempted or cut short or interrupted by weather broadcasts... so I just don't watch TV at all. I will wait--dodging spoilers for a year and a half--and buy the whole season when it becomes available.

I'm weird that way! wink.gif

Well, I usually tape everything I want to watch and then watch it the next day. That way I don't have to stay up late at night when all the good stuff comes (spend the time in front of my computer, though laugh.gif) and can fast forward the commercials.

For an one hour show there are usually only two commercial breaks, not every few minutes, when you have the fade out - fade in.

But that way I don't know any commercials smile.gif My brother always asks if I have seen this cool commercial but I never saw it. But some times, some rare times, something catches my eye and I even rewind to watch the commercial. So, I'm weird too smile.gif

But since in Germany everything is dubbed there is a big reason for people to buy series and movies at DVDs just to hear the original voices and getting the English jokes which not always can be translated.

(Read: There are DVDs? Last time I checked fans were doing petitions for it?)

Edit: At one of the Stargate commentaries one of the producers (forgot who it was) said that it actually is very weird, to watch the show in one go, without having the breaks. Since when writing they time the story for the breaks, go into the commercials with a highlight, and then you have a few minutes to think about it what will happen next. So when the DVD just keeps going and you don't have this break it's not as much impressive as it otherwise would be. Makes sense to me, too, actually!

I totally agree! I'd rather watch it on DVD than watch commercials. I RATHER read than watch network TV.

I did an inventory of all the DVDs and VHS tapes (not including the recordings) and it came out over 500. No wonder I'm ALWAYS broke. dry.gif
(we're moving, so the first things to pack are books, DVDs, and VHS tapes. They are also the first to be unpacked, because invariably the cable company screws up the date they come for installation.)

Now, if Legend were out on DVD... yeah, I'd buy it. I've never seen it...

I was lucky enough to get a tape with a few episodes of "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers" and I still don't understand why everyone said back then that it was so bad. I think the DVDs would sell very well laugh.gif

Dreams are important, otherwise sleep is just eight hours of nothing.

I call it an obstacle course. Some of the others call it MacGyverland.

Must have duct tape ... Lots of duct tape.

Saved By the Bell (Seasons 1-4) (Complete series- still waiting on Good Morning, Miss Bliss to get released though)
Happy Days (Seasons 1-2)

Those aren't even released here yet. Happy Days will come next month and the second season only three weeks after.
But no Saved By The Bell or Miss Bliss yet.

I love DM, but watching it on DVD is kind of a trial... the opening and closing sequences are longer than the actual cartoon! laugh.gif Gets tedious after a while!
