I love DM, but watching it on DVD is kind of a trial... the opening and closing sequences are longer than the actual cartoon!
My woodwork teacher at secondary school looked the exact double of Penfold. biggrin.gif I've not seen the show for a while but can remember the theme tune well. One of my sisters used to go around singing all the time. It was often what ever she’d heard last. This meant that all the way through the cartoon she’d be singing the theme tune while watching. rolleyes.gif
She was great at theme tunes. I remember one night when my little brother couldn’t sleep me and my sisters re-enacted the entire Robin Hood cartoon (the one with the foxes?) with all the songs, words and dodgy accents happy.gif … blink.gif ohno-smiley.gif Yikes I can recall it even now! No wonder I struggle to learn things now, my brain is full of a cartoon!!! surprise.gif
A pox on the phoney king of England! mad.gif

Stargate SG-1 (1-8)
Stargate Atlantis (1)
The X-Files (1-9)
Greatest American Hero (1-2)
MacGyver (1-6)

Working on finishing these out, then probably move on to the Star Treks!

Well, you definitely need to get MacGyver Season 7 of course- biggrin.gif

and I would also recommend The Greatest American Hero Season 3.
I've heard about and read about this show before- but never got to see it when it originally aired- so I've been watching it on DVD and I went through the whole set and I love this show! smile.gif

Just found my Forever Knight in a packing box, but I'm missing about other 20 DVDs so far. dry.gif

Can I count Sanctuary even they're downloaded webisodes?

...also Star Wars Clone Wars Volume I & II

Also the first season of The Simpsons.

Oooo... I loved The Greatest American Hero when it first came out. That'll go on my wishlist (21 Jump Street too...)

Oh, yes, I will finish out all of the series I've started. Just one at a time.

Next up for me:
SG1 9 and 10
Mac 7
SGA 2
GAH 3

And that's in no particular order, of course...

When do you guys have time to watch all of these TV shows that you own?

And I agree where do you keep them?

I have MacGyver seasons 1-7 and Stargate SG1 seasons 1-6 and 8. I plan to buy Season 7 later this month.

We watch Everybody Loves Raymond on TV as a family.

My husband (who watches Stargate Sg1 with me) and I have about 100 movies. I love old classics. My favorite movies are ones like Gone With the Wind, To Kill a Mockingbird, Ten Commandments, Casablanca, and anything directed by Alfred Hitchcock. My husband likes the Godfather, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List and we both love Braveheart. My kids love Disney movies and cartoons, plus MacGyver with me. We also have Indiana Jones films, Jaws, the good stuff for hanging out. RDA is my favorite TV actor, and Harrison Ford is my favorite modern movie actor. If you want a really long list, ask me to describe my favorite films in depth.

Time. I have way too much time on my hands, unfortunately.

Well, I have 2 full size bookcases, several CD stands, (we got the bookcases when we realized the CD stands were way too small for all the DVDs...) stacks of DVDs around every television, the bedroom closet (thank God it's a walk-in) and my apartment came with a built-in bookcase...

Paperback books are all over the place and I've yet to unpack the VHS tapes, computer manuals, and the hardcover books (except the collectables.) I display them in the entertainment center.

Room? I don't have room... And my husband absolutely HATES to move these days. Between books, DVDs, VHS tapes (not counting the homemade ones) the boxes are HEAVY! ...and plentiful!

I love the old classics. It's the only thing my mother would let me watch growing up (besides M*A*S*H and Merv Griffin)

Fave TV actor: RDA. biggrin.gif
Don't have a fave female TV actor.

Fave movie actor(s): It's a contest between Harrison Ford and Samuel L. Jackson for male actor.
No fave female actor.

In terms of female modern movie actresses, I like Michelle Pfeiffer and Catherine Zeta Jones. As for the classics, I like Elizabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh, Grace Kelly, Katharine Hepburn, many others--Bette David scares me! Classic movie actors: James Stewart, Charlton Heston, John Wayne, Gregory Peck, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy--the list could go on!

TV --why do you think I love still to watch MacGyver? Well other than it's awesome. There is nothing good on these days--there are a few exceptions--but---
And Stargate SG1---I like Amanda Tapping who plays Samantha Carter in Stargate SG1. She's a complex heroine.

Season 3 and 6 of MacGyver (despite 6 having the only episode that is truly stupid, that being "the gun"), season 1 of "Roswell", and season 5 of 24.

There are worse episodes than The Gun like MacGyver's Women.

I don't like that one either, but I have serious ideological problems with "The Gun". I'm fine that MacGyver doesn't like guns especially given the character's backstory, but this politicization of the issue following a celebrity murder was stupid. The episode was a political vehicle for an ignominious cause, with ignorant stereotypes and far-fetched exaggerations.

I thought it was fine, but I'm not too picky. happy.gif
There's plenty worse TV than that- I'm pretty sure I've seen some. LOL.
Of course, I would take any episode of MacGyver any day over almost everything that airs on TV today. Among the very few exceptions- there are a couple of cartoons that are good- I like most any of the Marvel and DC comics based cartoons and live action shows (namely Smallville) and the Transformers Animated cartoon is cool- and G.I. Joe: Sigma Six. But then the only reason I like those is because they're just newer versions of classic '80s cartoons I grew up watching.
Beyond that, it's pretty much Sesame Street, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
And the occasional sports events- like say, the 2008 NBA Finals- Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers! WOOHOO! Go Celtics! cool.jpg

I can add:

Ghost Whisperer Season 1
Penn and Teller Bulls*** S1-5 (I know, it's a bad word... but I like the honesty of the show.)
Planet Earth (Beautiful, beautiful series! Worth every penny.)
X-Files S9
Beauty and the Beast S3
The Closer S1
BtVS S6-7
Jericho S1-2
I Dream of Jeanne S1
Land of the Giants S1

My Amazon wishlist keeps getting longer and longer, but I'm so glad the older series are coming out. Next purchase-The Incredible Hulk series, even though I spent the last week watching the Hulk marathon. (I loved Bill Bixby since The Courtship of Eddie's Father) Maybe Magnum too...? Yeah. happy.gif

Yep--you can never have the main character leave and keep the ambience of the show intact. It happened when RDA left SG-1, and when the main actor (I can't remember his name at the moment) left Northern Exposure. Both series simply fell apart.

But it WAS the cheapest at the time, and I was trying to fill up my Amazon order to get the free shipping.

It was bad, wasn't it?

Oh well... not the first time I've wasted my money on something. I figured since I had stop watching X-Files in the beginning of season 8, I would get something I've not seen. I did that with the last two seasons of SG-1, too. Wasn't worth buying the DVDs, not after RDA had left. Series fell apart without him there, at least in my humble opinion.

That happened with 'Due South', too.

David Marchiano was the perfect foil for Paul Gross's handsome, squeaky-clean Mountie. I really missed him when he departed. The new 'Ray' was a good character too, but I still found myself asking in every episode "Where's the real Ray?"

$65.00! That's a pretty penny, but you do get a lot for it. Well, this one is going on my wishlist.
