Jack is in fact younger than Mac (they've told us - the producers/writers - to count NOT props as actual evidence. So Jack in the first season of SG-1 (Brief Candle) said he was 40. Mac said he was 42 in the 6th or 7th season of MacGyver. Anyone remember which episode that was?)

But differing age notwithstanding, I think they'd still be evenly matched even with their different skill sets.

Too bad nobody wanted to continue with this. It was fun...

He (Mac) tells Lulu in Lost Amadeus that he's 39 and that's the spring of 1990 and in the 5th season so you figure he's just turned 39 or about to turn 40.

In the beginning of season 1 in Brief Candle we learn that Jack is 40 and that's in 1996.

Mac was born 1951/1952 ?

Jack was born in 1955/1956.

My hubby and I are watching the episode of Stargate sg1 called Double Jeopardy with the two Jacks. Talk about a Freudian nightmare!! Also if Mac and Jack met, and Mac and Sam tried to hook up (totally allowable) how would Jack handle it? Weird!

Perhaps a SAK Vs. Bayonet fight?

He would be a great help. Making DHD's out of twigs, duct tape, and p90 casings...

Yeah and like Daniel Jackson, he would spend a lot of time on missions trying to keep Jack from shooting bad guys. Jack would like the MacGyverisms: it would be like having another Carter, except one that looked exactly like him. He'd probaby prefer a second, non-Replicator version of Carter. He's a guy and Carter is really pretty. Jack isn't going to want to stare at Mac. They'd both be thinking about Carter. That could be a good story.

I totally agree with alot of y'all in here -
why would they start fighting in the first place?

If it wasnt for something inappropriate that Jack might have said about Mac's mother - then fists would start flying...

So, would there be fighting going on over at the junkyard - it's gonna take it's sweet time with gravelthrowing, punching, running, gadgetbuilding and some clever one-liners shouted at eachother etc.etc.
- but in the end, Mac would unfortunately be knockedout on the ground

( sad but true )

And after that they cant pass eachother without giving the evileye

It would be like the Peter Vs. Giant Chicken saga... Mac would be cruising down a street in his jeep, then *POW*, sucker punched by Jack, then they have an episode long rumble until one has fallen, followed by a quick zoom-in to a SAK/P90 being grabbed by the defeated one, and a sunset walk by the victor...

Star Trek the next Generation meets Sg1

My husband came up with this: He loves Stargate Sg1 too.

Here's a scenario to discuss and have fun with. after MacGyver meets SG1 and joins the team picture this: Scene: Alien planet the year 2275 A.D. Exterior shot showing a stargate. Suddenly 5 people beam onto the planet's surface, not Asgard mind you. The people are Capt. Jean Luc Picard, Commander Data, Counselor Troi, Jordi Laforge, and Worf. As the away team is looking at the stargate, it activates and out walks SG1. Think about it.

What about Sliders meets SG1...

Mu hubby would applaud you on that!

Somehow the 2 worm holes become connected and they come out of the Stargate at the same time... Would make for some laughs

Then Jerry O'Connell's character would get talking to Samantha Carter about wormhole physics and everyone else would get confused.

Man, talk about crossing the streams . . .

that would be very bad.

After the big boom and the universe collapses, the only 2 people still left are MacGyver and Teal'c

Or MacGyver and Sam -- which might be a lot more fun.

1. So what the human race starts over, with Mac and Sam and they make smart babies?

2. If SG1 and Mac survived the destruction of Earth with a few others on a different planet (the Alpha site) including a mutant who was a cross between Jack Dalton and Harry Maybourne: oooooo just think of the ways that he could annoy Jack O'Neill and MacGyver
