Easy, house boat. It's a permanent place to stay with a little less permanent feel to it. Can't really explain why. It kind of gives a feeling of freedom, still it's a house.

I'd have to say:
1. The Observatory. You wouldn't be able to pry me away from all the equipment - telescopes, computers and such. And it's just such an unusual place. I like the round room (where in the pilot Mac and friend play basketball). Also - handy to have helicopters land on the front lawn, something I could make use of.
2. The Houseboat. Although I would definitely put a better lock on the front door... Just the idea of being on the water. Think "giant water bed". The sounds and sensations are just so relaxing. Its a good size for one person, yet still affords plenty of privacy from neighbors, with plenty of bookshelves for all the various types of media Mac - or I have collected over the years. Ample kitchen space. Plenty of parking. Perfect!

That was the kitchen I think. And unless I'm mistaken, that door, was that the bedroom, next to the kitchen?
The House boat of course.

The houseboat--there's something soothing about living on water (the idea especially appeals to a landlocked person such as myself ). The interior has a warm, welcoming, down-to-earth feeling about it--I especially like all the wood and hardwood flooring, and the spiral staircase adds a touch of creative design to the interior, looking like boat rigging.

I think you just said it Rocky - almost like a log cabin - in the woods - probably where he'd prefer to be - yet still close enough to the Phoenix Foundation, Pete and his work. We figured it out!

just love the houseboat. I want one.
Hmm, how much does one cost? But if I want one, I'll probably have to move to the harbor in Antwerp or go and live at the coast.

Well, I think the Observatory would be a pretty neat place to live. But I definitely have to agree that the houseboat would be a cool place to live! (But I don't think I'd have any pet alligators on it like Sonny Crockett! ) But it seems a lot of crimefighters seem to like houseboats- the aforementioned Sonny Crockett on Miami Vice, the guys on Riptide, and Rick Simon on Simon & Simon. (And there may be others I'm not thinking of right now.) Yet somehow- I most strongly connect the houseboat with MacGyver! (Could be because it's my favorite show! And because I never really watched any of those other shows I listed as a kid. I'm not sure that they all aired where I lived.)
Oh yeah, and by the way- I don't think I'd want to live in Pete's cabin since it got burned down and all. (Although-Pete's Cabin- sounds like it could be a movie- involving an animated cabin that can talk with a real live action boy named Pete....never mind )
One last musing- I've always been a bit enamored with mobile homes since seeing a segment on them as a kid on Sesame Street...I kind of liken these to houseboats in a way- I wonder if MacGyver would have been the same if he had traded in the houseboat for a RV? Just something to ponder.

You must not be from the South (like me). The very mention of a mobile home scares me to death---too many in the local news obliterated by tornadoes or a fire.
My vote...the houseboat. I love the interior! It's so warm and cozy and the spiral staircase rocks!

Well, I'm not from there, but I've lived there long enough. And I'm NOT talking about living in a trailer. I meant to say a RV- the kind that are really pretty much meant for camping vacations and whatever- but I always thought it would be fun to permanently live out of one- travelling all over the USA.

The houseboat. I am a water person, and being near water always pushes my creativity level up another notch. I see scenes of the houseboat and keep coming up with different ways that I would re-decorate it to suit me.

Houseboat!! I'd put his houseboat in someplace where it never snows though. Maybe build on to accomodate my family and guests. I have a big obnoxious family.

As much as I do like the Houseboat, I'm going to have to go with the Venice loft! I know its not the most attractive house on the outside, but I think the inside looks nice and spacey. I know we don't get to see that much of the inside, but I just like the look and feel of it. Now I would def. remove Robo's handy work though! I think the lighting looks nice too, especially at the end of ,"The Hood." I love that scene!

Houseboat definitely! Although I'd live to live in a cabin, the feel would be pretty much the same, and you get the feel of the water, which I love too.
Because the first time I watched MacGyver in the TV show it was the first season. And I really love places with beaches, sun, good weather. And because Venice is a real place from California.
2) HouseBoat. The First time I realized someone could live in a House that was at the same time a Boat it was watching MacGyver. And after 3 seasons there Mac is not Mac withought the HouseBoat.
3) The Observatory. Waw!!! Someone can live in a place like this? You can see the stars, the planets... all time you wanna do it.
I didnīt like so much the change from 1st to 2nd season. Maybe the beach was so far away from his new house.
I liked, in the 7h season, that Mac came back to California, but the Loft was not as good like the Venice Apartment, even the neighbourhood didnīt like so much comparing with Venice. Well, maybe the crue thought that the loft with a garage for his Jeep and his motorbike was ideal for the show.

Where do I want to live? With Mac anywhere
but... I picked the Venice Apartment. I feel something like mazinger. It's my first association with MacGyver. It remains me lots of good memories. And what more, I do love California! It must be absolutely wonderful place to live and it's my dream to relocate there (at least for some time)
I like the Houseboat too but it's the second option.
Watching and waiting For someone to understand me I hope it won't be very long
