The only kind of snake I have ever held is one of those small gardner ( I think that's the spelling )snakes, which are completely harmless.

Garter, actually. We used to catch those out back, but after the time I put one in the dollhouse and it got loose . . . well, never mind, we did find it and put it outside without anyone, including the snake, actually getting hurt.

I held a rainbow snake once- they're pretty nice.  I wouldn't try for anacondas or boa constrictors or pythons though.
(Monty python is fairly safe though! tongue.gif )

Another really pretty snake is the rosy boa.

If you're going to hold a python, do so when it's not hungry. And bring friends -- they can be pretty big and heavy. (The python, not the friends. Well, maybe both.)

If all the Monty Pythonites held a python, would the whole lot of them implode?

Well, it would be sort of like having a python particle and an anti-python particle -- mutual annihilation. There isn't a particle of real python-ness in the Pythons, as they have frequently said. So you have several Pythonites, and one large python, which might roughly match.

haiku:

Rhinoceros
Anti-rhinoceros
Annihilation.

What, wasn't that haiku different enough?
